Eligibility Criteria for AAI NR Apprenticeship 2026
Educational Qualification
- Graduate Apprentice: Full-time (regular) 4-year B.E./B.Tech in Civil, Electrical, Electronics, CS/IT, Mechanical/Automobile from an AICTE-recognised institution, OR BCA degree — passed in or after 2022
- Diploma Apprentice: Full-time (regular) 3-year Diploma in Engineering in the above trades from an AICTE-recognised polytechnic — passed in or after 2022
- ITI / Trade Apprentice: ITI/NCVT certificate in Computer Operator Programming Assistant or Stenography from an AICTE-recognised institution — passed in or after 2022
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 26 years (as on 31 March 2026)
- Relaxation in upper age limit for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD as per Government of India guidelines
Domicile Requirement
Only candidates who are domiciles of these 11 states/UTs are eligible: Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Leh Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand.

- Candidates who have already completed or terminated apprenticeship in any organisation at the same qualification level

Salary and Stipend — AAI NR Apprenticeship 2026
The apprenticeship is for 12 months with monthly stipends paid directly to your bank account:

What is the Selection Process for AAI NR Apprenticeship 2026?
Selection is entirely merit-based — there is no written exam. Here’s how it works:
- Merit List: Prepared based on percentage of marks in your qualifying exam (degree/diploma/ITI). In case of equal marks, date of birth and then date of passing are used as tie-breaker.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification at the establishment office. You must bring all original certificates and submit self-attested copies.
- Medical Examination: You need to submit a Medical Fitness Certificate from a Government Medical Officer at the time of joining.
- Final Selection: Based on merit + successful document verification + medical fitness.
