Educational Qualification for BEL Apprentice 2026
- Graduate Apprentices (Engineering): Candidates must have passed 4-year B.E./B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an AICTE or Government of India recognized institution. Degree must be completed on or after 01 July 2021.
- Graduate Apprentices (General): Candidates with a 3-year B.Sc, B.Com, or BA degree from a recognized institution, completed on or after 01 July 2021, are also eligible.
- Diploma Apprentices: Candidates must have passed their Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from AICTE or Government of India approved institutes, completed on or after 01 July 2021.
- ITI Apprentices: Candidates must have an ITI Certificate of Completion from National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or State Council Vocational Training in any of these trades: Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Painter (General), Electrician, Draughtsman (Mechanical), Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA), or Welder (G & E).

Over the full one-year training period, Graduate ECE apprentices can earn up to ₹2,10,000, while ITI apprentices can earn up to ₹1,32,480 — all while gaining valuable hands-on experience at a top defence PSU.
BEL also provides canteen facility at nominal rates. However, no accommodation or TA/DA is provided. After completing one year, apprentices may be considered for Advanced Trainee positions for an additional 2 years, subject to vacancy and a further screening test.

The selection for all apprentice categories is based on a Written Test conducted by BEL at Navi Mumbai. There is no interview — your test score is what matters.
Written Test
