The selection procedure for the Junior Stenographer post will involve the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on the fulfillment of eligibility criteria mentioned in the advertisement.
- Proficiency Test in Stenography:
- This test is qualifying in nature.
- Candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted) at a speed of 80 w.p.m.
- Transcription time: 50 minutes for English, 65 minutes for Hindi (70 minutes for English and 90 minutes for Hindi for candidates eligible for a scribe).
- Permissible mistakes: 7% for Unreserved candidates and 10% for all reserved categories.
- Competitive Written Examination:
- The selection will be based on the merit list of this examination.
- Mode: OMR based or computer-based objective type Multiple Choice Examination.
- Medium: Questions will be set in both English and Hindi (except for the English Language section).
- Standard of Exam: 10+2/XII.
- Total Questions: 200.
- Total Time: 2 hours (2 hours and 40 minutes for candidates eligible for a scribe).
- Exam Components:
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
- General Awareness: 50 Questions, 50 Marks
- English Language & Comprehension: 100 Questions, 100 Marks
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
