The Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Kolkata, has opened a special drive under Advt. No. PLR/ET/04/2026/05 (dated 6 November 2026) to recruit 108 Executive Trainees through GATE 2025: Electrical 50, Civil 26, Mechanical 17, C&I 12 and Mining 3. The 108 includes 16 backlog vacancies. Mining has no seat for OBC(NCL), SC, ST or EWS candidates, and C&I has no ST seat. Of the overall vacancies, 8 are reserved for PwBD (horizontal): Blindness and Low Vision 1, Deaf and Hard of Hearing 2, Locomotor disability 3, and Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, mental illness or multiple disabilities 2. The Mining post is excluded from PwBD reservation. A candidate can apply for one post or discipline only.
Eligibility Criteria for DVC Executive Trainee 2026
Educational Qualification
Every post needs a full-time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology from an AICTE or appropriate statutory authority approved Indian university or institution, with at least 65% marks (General, OBC(NCL), EWS) or 60% marks (SC, ST, PwD; Mining lists SC/ST only) in aggregate of all years or semesters. You must also have appeared and qualified in the matching GATE 2025 paper.

If your university awards CGPA or grades, convert them as the university prescribes. Where it has no scheme, divide your CGPA by the maximum CGPA and multiply by 100. Final-semester (2025) candidates whose results are awaited may apply, but must produce the final mark sheet and provisional or final degree certificate at Document Verification, or they will not be allowed to appear.

Age Limit
The upper age limit is 29 years for Unreserved candidates, counted on the closing date, 6 December 2026. That date is also the cut-off for age, qualification and category.

OBC candidates in the Creamy Layer are not entitled to the concession admissible to the OBC category and must show their category as General. OBC (NCL) and EWS certificates must be in the Govt. of India format and not older than one year from the Document Verification date; disability must be at least 40%. What is the Salary of DVC Executive Trainee 2026?
Trainees are placed in Pay Matrix Level 10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500, 7th CPC) during the one-year probation, then absorbed as Assistant Manager on the same scale. The package includes Basic Pay, CDA, Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Allowance, NPS, Conveyance Allowance, Leave Encashment and HRA as per Corporation rules.

What is the Selection Process for DVC Executive Trainee 2026?
The selection process consists of marks obtained out of 100 in the corresponding GATE 2025 paper only.

DVC may increase or decrease the ratio, and qualifying GATE marks are those set by the GATE 2025 conducting authority. Merely qualifying in GATE 2025 gives no right to be called for Document Verification. Ties in the final merit list are settled by date of birth, the older candidate first. DVC also reserves the right to cancel, restrict, enlarge or modify the process. Canvassing in any form is treated as disqualification. If DVC finds at any stage that you do not meet the eligibility norms, gave false information or suppressed a material fact, your candidature stands automatically cancelled, and if this is found after appointment your services can be terminated without notice. Candidature at every stage is purely provisional, and DVC’s decision on eligibility and on accepting or rejecting applications is final. Candidates found ineligible while their documents are verified are not allowed into the further selection process.
