Eligibility Criteria for IREL Apprenticeship

Candidates must ensure they meet the specific educational and age requirements before applying.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Apprentice: B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering; OR B.Com for Non-Engineering posts.
  • Technician Apprentice: Full-time Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Trade Apprentice:
    • LACP: B.Sc in Chemistry or Physics.
    • Executive HR: MBA/PG in HR or PM&IR.
    • ITI Trades: ITI Pass Certificate in Plumber, Welder, Fitter, MMV, Electrician, or Instrument Mechanic.

Salary and Benefits: Stipend Structure

Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend in accordance with the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992.

  • Additional Benefit: Apart from the stipend, apprentices are entitled to a Food Coupon valued at ₹1,500/- per month.

Selection Process Explained

The selection for IREL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is strictly based on merit. There is no written exam or interview.

  1. Merit List: Selection is based on marks scored in the specified educational qualification (Degree/Diploma/ITI/B.Sc).
  2. Tie-Breaker: In case of a tie, candidates with higher marks in the qualifying exam are placed higher. If marks are equal, seniority by Date of Birth is considered.
  3. Medical Fitness: Shortlisted candidates must be declared “Medically Fit” by the Company’s authorized Doctor.

    • Priority 1: Candidates belonging to Land Affected Category (RED).
    • Priority 2: Candidates from peripheral villages (within 10 km of RED) and wards of IREL employees.
    • Priority 3: Candidates from Ernakulam District.
    • Priority 4: Candidates from Kerala State.
    • Priority 5: Others.
