  • Graduation should be completed within the stipulated duration prescribed by the University. 
  • CGPA/Percentage Clarity:
    • If a university provides both CGPA and percentage, at least one must meet ISRO’s norms. 
    • If only CGPA is mentioned, it must meet ISRO’s criteria; conversion to percentage is not allowed. The same applies if only a percentage is mentioned. 
    • For Dual/Integrated Degree programmes, specific rules apply for determining eligibility based on how CGPA/Percentage is mentioned for graduation and post-graduation levels.

The Path to ISRO: Selection Process 📝

The selection process for the Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ position involves a Written Test followed by an Interview.

a) Written Test:

  • Venues: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Thiruvananthapuram. (ISRO reserves the right to change/cancel venues). 
  • Call Letters: Will be sent only to the registered e-mail ID of candidates. 
  • Pattern of the Question Paper:
    • Single objective type paper with two parts: Part ‘A’ and Part ‘B’. 
    • Duration: 120 minutes (compensation time applicable for PwBD candidates). 
    • Part ‘A’ – Area/Discipline Specific:
      • 80 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 
      • 1 mark each. 
      • Marking Scheme: +1 for a correct answer, -1/3 for an incorrect answer. 
    • Part ‘B’ – Aptitude/Ability Tests:
      • Maximum 15 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). 
      • Totaling 20 marks. 
      • No negative marking. 

b) Interview:

  • Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview based on their performance in the written test, in the ratio of 1:5, with an aggregate minimum of 10 candidates. 
  • For reserved vacancies, distinct/additional candidates will be short-listed in a 1:5 ratio (maximum), irrespective of reserved candidates shortlisted under the Unreserved (UR) category. 
  • Allocation of Marks (100 Total Marks):
    • Technical (Academic) Knowledge: 40 marks 
    • General Awareness relevant to the area of specialization (Technical): 20 marks 
    • Presentation/Communication Skill: 20 marks 
    • Comprehension: 10 marks 
    • Academic Achievements: 10 marks (details like institute ranking (NIRF top 20 IITs, IISc, NITs – 3 marks), academic performance (CGPA ≥9 or >85% – 4 marks; CGPA 7.5 to 9 or 71-85% – 2 marks), and institute rank (1 to 3 – 3 marks) contribute to this).

How to Apply for ISRO Recruitment 2025 💻

Follow these steps to successfully apply online:

  1. Visit the Official ISRO Website: Applications will be received online only through the ISRO website. The application for online registration will be hosted between 27.05.2025 and 16.06.2025
  2. Multiple Posts: Candidates can apply for multiple posts, subject to conditions. If applying for multiple posts, select common (same) written test centers and pay the application fee separately for each post. 
  3. Registration: Upon registration, an online Registration Number will be provided. Preserve this number carefully for future reference. 
  4. E-mail ID: Provide your e-mail ID compulsorily in the application form, as all further communication will be through the registered e-mail ID/ISRO website. 
  5. NCS Portal Candidates: Candidates registered under the National Career Services (NCS) portal and fulfilling eligibility conditions should visit the ISRO website and follow the stated application procedure. 
  6. No Objection Certificate (NOC): Candidates employed in Central/State Government, PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, etc., must submit an NOC from their employer at the time of the Interview. Apply for the post only with the intimation and prior permission of the employer. If employment is gained/changed after applying, inform the new employer and submit an NOC. Failure to submit the original NOC at the interview will result in disbarment from the interview, and TA will not be paid. 
  7. Document Upload: No documents (except a photo and signature in JPG format) are to be uploaded with the application. However, be ready to submit original documents supporting qualification, age, category, NOC, etc., when called for. 
  8. Check Details: Before submitting, carefully check all fields entered online. Avoid submitting multiple applications for the same post. 
  9. Final Submission: The last date for submitting the online application is 16.06.2025

Application Fee Details 💳

  • Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of ₹250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only) for all posts. 
  • Initial Processing Fee: All candidates must initially pay ₹750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred and Fifty only) per application as a processing fee. 
  • Refund Policy: The processing fee will be refunded only to candidates who appear in the written test, as follows:
    • ₹750/- (Full Refund): For candidates exempted from the application fee (Women, SC/ST/PwBD, Ex-Servicemen). 
    • ₹500/- (Partial Refund): For all other candidates (after deducting the ₹250/- application fee). 
  • No Refund: Candidates who do not attend the written test will not be refunded any amount. 
  • Bank Account for Refund: Refund will be made only to the bank account details (Account holder name, Account Number, IFSC Code) provided by the candidate in the application. ICRB is not responsible for refund failure due to incorrect bank details. 
  • Multiple Applications: Candidates applying for multiple posts must remit the ₹750/- fee separately for each application. 
  • Payment Mode:
    • The application fee will be collected only through Online mode via the Bharathkosh portal. The link will appear upon submission of the online application. 
    • Accepted payment methods: Internet Banking, Unified Payment Interface (UPI), Debit Cards (Domestic), Credit Cards (Domestic). 
    • Other modes like cash, cheque, draft, Money Order, IPO are not accepted. 
  • Payment Confirmation: After successful payment, a confirmation message and e-mail will be received. 
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 18.06.2025
  • Payment Advice: Candidates are advised to make online payments by 14.06.2025 to avoid unexpected transaction failures. ISRO is not responsible for pending transactions or failures. Ensure ‘successful payment’ from the “Payment Status” link on ISRO’s website. 
  • Payment Process:
    • Immediate Payment: After submitting the application, a “Make Payment” button will appear on the registration confirmation page. 
    • Later Payment: Use the “Make Payment” link on the advertisement page before the deadline by providing your Registration number and Date of Birth. 
  • Important Payment Notes:
    • Bank charges and taxes may vary. 
    • Do not click REFRESH or BACK during payment processing.
