Eligibility Criteria for MPSC Recruitment 2025
Candidates must meet the specified educational qualifications and age limits to be eligible for these positions.
Educational Qualifications:
- Scientific Officer (Chemistry Division): Essential: M.Sc in Chemistry/M.Sc in Forensic Science with honours in Chemistry at the Degree level/ Forensic Science at the Degree level.
- Assistant Engineer (Group B): Essential: B.E/B. Tech (Civil), B.Sc Engg (Civil), B.Sc (Agri Engg with relevant subjects), B.Tech (Agri Engg with relevant subjects), B.Tech (Water Resources Engg). For a detailed syllabus, refer to the MPSC website.
- Lower Division Assistant: Essential: Graduate in any stream from any recognized University in India.
- Draftsman Grade-II (Group C): Essential: ITI Certificate in Civil Draftsmanship from Government recognized Institutions.
- Important Note: Degrees/certificates from the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (India) and the Aeronautical Society of India obtained after May 31, 2013, are not admissible for general or specified technical posts. Eligibility for degrees/certificates from the Institution of Engineers (India) obtained after May 31, 2013, is subject to government decisions.
Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025):
- For all posts : Candidates should be between 18 and 32 years of age.
- Age Relaxation:
- The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
- There is no age bar for regular Government employees who entered service within the prescribed age limit.
- Relaxation for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) varies by post group: 10 years for Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts (15 years for STs/SCs), and for Group ‘A’ & ‘B’ posts recruited through open competitive examination.
- The date of birth accepted by the Commission is as entered in the Matriculation/Secondary School Leaving Certificate or equivalent. No other documents like horoscopes or affidavits will be accepted.

Selection Process for MPSC Vacancies
The final selection of candidates will be made by the Commission through the following stages:
- Screening Test: A multiple-choice question (MCQ) pattern test will be conducted for all posts. The subjects and marks distribution vary per post:
- Scientific Officer: General English (100 marks), General Knowledge & Aptitude (100 marks), Chemistry/Forensic Science (Degree level – 100 marks). Total: 300 marks.
- Assistant Engineer: General English (100 marks), General Knowledge (100 marks), Agriculture Engg/Civil Engg/Water Resources Engg (as per syllabus – 100 marks). Total: 300 marks.
- Lower Division Assistant: General English (150 marks), General Awareness & Aptitude (150 marks). Total: 300 marks.
- Draftsman Grade-II: General English (50 marks), General Knowledge (50 marks), Civil Draftsmanship (Certificate Course Level – 200 marks). Total: 300 marks.
- Personal Interview: Candidates who pass the Screening Test will be called for a Personal Interview. The ratio of candidates called for the interview will be decided by the MPSC. Original documents related to educational qualification, date of birth, caste, etc., must be produced during the interview.
- Document Verification: This will be part of the selection process, likely during the Personal Interview stage.
