Eligibility Criteria for PRL Trainee Recruitment 2025
To be eligible for the PRL Trainee positions, candidates must meet specific educational qualifications and age criteria. It is crucial to ensure you fulfill these requirements before appearing for the Walk-in Skill Test.
Educational Qualification
- Office Trainee:
- A Graduate degree in Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Law, or Computer Application from a recognized University/Institute.
- Must have secured a minimum of 55% marks.
- Note: Candidates with an Engineering degree are not eligible for this post.
- Library Trainee:
- A Post Graduate Degree in Library & Information Science with 60% marks or above.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained their degree through a regular, full-time academic program.
- Computer Operator Trainee:
- First Class Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) OR
- First Class Diploma in Computer Engineering or Information Technology from a recognized University/Institute.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained their degree/diploma through a regular, full-time academic program.
- ITI Trainees (Turner, Machinist, Fitter, Welder, Plumber, Carpenter, Electrician):
- ITI certificate (First Class) in the respective trade (Turner, Machinist, Fitter, Welder, Plumber, Carpenter, or Electrician).
- 1-2 years of relevant experience is desirable but not mandatory.
Age Limit
- Candidates must be between 18 and 28 years of age as of July 30, 2025.
- Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) will be applicable as per Government of India rules.

Selection Process for PRL Recruitment 2025
The selection process for the PRL Trainee Recruitment 2025 is straightforward and designed to assess practical skills.
- Walk-in Registration & Document Scrutiny: Candidates must first report to the PRL main gate for registration. Their application forms and original documents will be scrutinized to verify eligibility. Only eligible candidates will proceed to the next stage.
- Skill Test: Eligible candidates will undergo a Skill Test on the same day. The test will be designed to evaluate the candidate’s proficiency and practical knowledge relevant to the trainee position they have applied for. For example, ITI candidates will be tested on their trade skills, while Computer Operator trainees will be assessed on their computer proficiency.
- Final Selection: A final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the Skill Test. The decision of PRL in this regard will be final and binding.
How to Apply for PRL Recruitment 2025
The application process is offline and requires candidates to be present for the walk-in skill test. Follow these steps carefully:
- Download the Application Form: Visit the official PRL website. Navigate to the “Opportunities” section and then to “Job Vacancies and Fellowship Programs” to find the advertisement and download the relevant application form (there are separate forms for ITI and other trainees).
- Fill the Application Form: Fill out the application form completely in Hindi or English (Capital Letters).
- Affix Photograph: Paste your recent color passport-size photograph in the space provided.
- Gather Documents: Arrange self-attested photocopies of all necessary documents, including:
- Proof of Date of Birth (10th Certificate)
- All educational qualification mark sheets and certificates (10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, Graduation, Post-Graduation).
- Experience certificates (if any).
- Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), if applicable.
- Any other relevant documents mentioned in the application.
- Attend the Walk-in Skill Test: Report to the Main Gate, Physical Research Laboratory, Navrangpura, Ahmedabad – 380009 on the specified date for your post between 08:30 AM and 11:30 AM.

Important Note: Candidates reporting after 11:30 AM will not be allowed to participate in the skill test.
