Educational Qualification
- A Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India.
- The graduation result must be declared on or before 31 July 2026.

Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 28 years (as on 1 July 2026)
Age relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) and 10 years for PwBD candidates. Candidates registered under NAPS must be below 34 years even after relaxation.
What is the Salary & Stipend for IOB Apprentice 2026?
The monthly stipend depends on the branch location category.
- Metro branches: ₹15,500 per month
- Urban branches: ₹14,500 per month
- Semi-Urban / Rural branches: ₹14,000 per month
For candidates registered under NATS, a part of the stipend is paid directly by the Government via DBT, so the bank’s share is lower. There are no other allowances during the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship lasts for 12 months. Remember, it does not guarantee regular employment with the bank after training. Even so, a year of hands-on branch experience, customer handling and real banking exposure is very valuable and gives you a strong edge when you later appear for IBPS, SBI and other bank recruitment exams.
What is the Selection Process for IOB Apprentice 2026?
Selection is through an online test followed by a language test and verification. The stages are:
- Online Written Test — 100 objective questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, covering General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative & Reasoning Aptitude and Computer/Subject Knowledge (25 questions each).
- Test of Local Language — you must be able to read, write and speak the local language of the state you applied for (candidates with the language in their 10th/12th are exempt).
