- Recognised institutes only: qualifications must be from UGC-recognised Indian universities or AICTE-approved institutes or boards. Foreign qualifications need an equivalency certificate from UGC or AIU.
- Marks: Note 3 says B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma with minimum 60% marks will be considered. For Project Administrative Staff, graduates in Arts, Commerce, Management, Science, Law or Computer Application with minimum 50% marks will be considered.
- Three-year Diploma: Note 2 says that for the Project Scientific Assistant posts, only candidates holding a three-year Diploma will be considered.
- Physics row: the vacancy table asks for B.Sc. (Physics) for the Physics branch, while Note 2 speaks only of a three-year Diploma for Project Scientific Assistant. The notification does not explain how the two fit. If you hold a B.Sc. in Physics, check the official notification page before you pay.
- Over-qualified: for Post Codes 01 and 02, candidates with a higher qualification than the ONE prescribed will be treated as over qualified and will not be screened in.
- Nationality: only Indian nationals need to apply.

Each figure is consolidated and includes HRA. On top of this, CHSS (Contributory Health Service Scheme) cover for self only is admissible. The monthly deduction is made from your pay as per IPR CHSS rules. Remember, these are temporary posts for a maximum of 3 years, and the engagement ceases automatically when the tenure ends. There is no claim to any temporary or permanent appointment during or after the project. Your performance is reviewed at the end of each year, and IPR can discontinue the appointment if it is not satisfactory.

IPR first scrutinises every online application for age, qualification, category certificate and fee receipt. Only valid applicants are called for a written test and/or interview. For the two scientific posts, a written test may be held for screening purposes only. Fulfilling the minimum qualification and applying does not guarantee a call. The test or interview is in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar, and no TA is paid for attending.
