Experience must be in a reputed industrial establishment and may include on-the-job training. Time spent as an apprentice under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961 counts. Teaching or research fellowship experience will not be counted. Courses must be full-time, regular and recognised by the State or Central Government, UGC or AICTE as applicable. Qualification, age and experience are all reckoned on 9 November 2026. If your course had a major and a minor discipline, you are considered only in the major one unless a competent authority certificate shows equal weightage. The upper age limit is 35 years on 9 November 2026, and no one can go beyond 50 years after all relaxations. Relaxation is given only if a valid certificate is uploaded with the application. A PwBD relaxation is listed, but para 7(k) says no post is suitable for PwBD candidates, so do not count on it.

Trainees may be absorbed after one year of successful training, so absorption is not promised. On a regular post you also get Industrial Dearness Allowance, increments, leave encashment, loans, life insurance, incentives, uniforms, and post-retirement medical, PF, gratuity and pension as applicable.
Compare the stipend with the regular scale before deciding. The training year pays a flat amount, while the W-3 scale is where increments and allowances start to add up, so the first year is the price of entry.
