SC and ST reservation follows Schedule II A of the Apprentice Rules, and OBC (NCL) follows Maharashtra Act No. VIII of 2004. PwBD seats are only for the disability groups printed against each trade. The ESM quota covers ex-servicemen, their children, and children of serving jawans and officers.

There is no upper age limit for apprenticeship training. Age is checked on the closing date. Your Class X certificate is the date-of-birth proof; a birth certificate is used only if Class X does not show it, or for Rigger candidates without Class X. During training you get free medical treatment only from the Naval Dockyard Dispensary, limited to what it offers.
