Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must strictly fulfill the educational and age criteria as on the closing date of the application.
Educational Qualification (H4)
- Senior Scientific Officer: Ph.D. with 2 years experience OR Master’s Degree in relevant discipline (Psychology/Criminology) with 5 years experience.
- Junior Scientific Officer: Master’s Degree in relevant field (Psychology/Criminology/Computer Science/Forensic Science/Biotech) OR B.E./B.Tech in relevant branch with 3 years experience.
- Laboratory Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Forensic Science, etc.
- Deputy/Assistant Registrar: Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks. Experience in administration/academics (9 years for Deputy, 3 years for Assistant).
- Assistant Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical Engineering (min 55%).
- Statistical Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as a special subject.
- Library Assistant: Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science + Typing speed of 30 wpm in English.
Age Limit (as on 18.01.2026) (H4)
- Senior Scientific Officer: Max 40 Years
- Junior Scientific Officer: Max 35 Years
- Laboratory Assistant: 18 to 27 Years
- Deputy Registrar: Max 50 Years
- Assistant Registrar / Deputy Engineer: Max 40 Years
- Assistant Engineer / Statistical Assistant: 21 to 35 Years
- Library Assistant: Max 32 Years
- Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxed for SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates as per GoI rules.
Salary and Benefits
NFSU offers a competitive salary package as per the 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
- Level 12 (Dy. Registrar): Starting Basic Pay ~₹78,800/-
- Level 10 (SSO, Asst. Registrar): Starting Basic Pay ~₹56,100/-
- Level 7 (JSO, Asst. Engineer): Starting Basic Pay ~₹44,900/-
- Level 5 (Lab Assistant, Statistical Asst.): Starting Basic Pay ~₹29,200/-
- Level 3 (Library Assistant): Starting Basic Pay ~₹21,700/-
Benefits: In addition to Basic Pay, employees are entitled to Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, Transport Allowance, and other central government benefits.
Selection Process Explained
The selection methodology varies based on the post level.
- For Group A Posts (Scientific Officers, Registrars): Selection is primarily based on Personal Interview. The University may conduct a Screening Test if the number of applications is high.
- For Other Posts (JSO, Lab Assistant, Assistants, etc.): Selection will be based on the merit of marks obtained in a Written Test.
