NPCIL Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the essential educational qualifications, experience (if applicable), and age limits as of the last date of online application submission (17/06/2025).
Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Stipendiary Trainees/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category-I) – Diploma Holders in Engineering:
- Diploma with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering OR in their equivalent discipline as specified in notification from a Government recognized institution. The diploma should be of three years duration after SSC/HSC.
- OR Two years Diploma through lateral entry to 2nd year after HSC with not less than 60% marks in the aforementioned disciplines.
- Candidates with Diploma through lateral entry after 10th (SSC)+ITI are not eligible.
- Must have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or at HSC level.
- Stipendiary Trainees/ Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category-I) – Science Graduates:
- B.Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks.
- B.Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Chemistry as principal and Physics/Mathematics/Statistics/Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary OR with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage.
- Mathematics at HSC (10+2) level is essential.
- Candidates having Mathematics as the principal subject at B.Sc. are not eligible.
- Must have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or HSC level.
- Stipendiary Trainees/ Technician (ST/TN) (Category-II) – Plant Operator:
- HSC (10+2) or ISC in Science stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Subjects) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Should have had English as one of the subjects at least at SSC level.
- Stipendiary Trainees/ Technician (ST/TN) (Category-II) – Maintainer:
- SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science Subject(s) and Mathematics individually AND 2 years ITI certificate course in relevant trades (Fitter, Electrician, Electronics, Instrumentation, Welder, Machinist, AC Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic or their equivalent trades as specified in the notification).
- For trades with ITI duration less than 2 years, at least one-year relevant working experience after course completion is required (apprenticeship training considered as experience).
- Should have had English as one of the subjects at least at SSC level.
- Assistant Grade-1 (HR/F&A/C&MM):
- Any bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University/Institution.
Age Limit (as of 17/06/2025):
- ST/SA (Category-I) – Diploma Holders & Science Graduates: 18 to 25 years
- ST/TN (Category-II) – Plant Operator & Maintainer: 18 to 24 years
- Assistant Grade-1 (HR/F&A/C&MM): 21 to 28 years
Relaxations in the upper age limit are applicable for SC/ST (5 years), OBC-NCL (3 years), PwBD (10 years for UR/EWS, 15 for SC/ST, 13 for OBC-NCL), and other specified categories as per Government of India rules.

Stipend During Training:

- Stipend: ₹24,000/- per month for the 1st year, ₹26,000/- per month for the next six months.

- Personal Interview: 100 marks. Shortlisting for interview in 1:5 ratio based on online exam merit.
