No. CC/03/2026) for Engineer Trainee 2027 in Electrical, Civil, Computer Science and Electronics. What is the Eligibility for POWERGRID Engineer Trainee 2027?
Educational Qualification
You need a full-time B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engg.) from a recognised university or institute with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA, in the discipline matching your post. This is a core engineering government job.

You must also have appeared and qualified in the matching GATE 2027 paper. The qualifying marks are the ones declared by the GATE 2027 organising body.
Degrees in any other discipline are not eligible, although the Corporation keeps the right to take a final decision on considering another engineering discipline. Final-year students can apply if they expect results by 31.08.2027 and have at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate of all semesters/years up to the pre-final examination; if selected, they must score 60% in the final degree. For SC/ST/PwBD, the 60% is relaxed to pass marks for posts reserved for them, as per the detailed advertisement. The date on your final mark sheet counts as the date you acquired the degree. For CGPA, use your university’s conversion; if it has none, divide your CGPA by the maximum CGPA and multiply by 100.
Age Limit
Only Indian nationals aged 18 or above can apply. The upper limit is 28 years as on 31.03.2027.

What is the Salary of a POWERGRID Engineer Trainee 2027?
During the one-year training, you are placed in the pay scale of ₹40,000 – 3% – ₹1,40,000 (IDA), drawing basic pay of ₹40,000 plus IDA, HRA and perks at 12% of basic pay.

The CTC varies with the location of posting and other terms of appointment.
On regularisation you also get DA, cafeteria-style perks, performance related pay, company accommodation or HRA, conveyance and digital services reimbursement, uniform, laptop, PF, gratuity, pension, leave encashment, group insurance, house building advance and medical cover for self and dependents.
Service bond: you must sign a bond to complete training and then serve at least three years. The amount is ₹5,00,000 for General / OBC (NCL) / EWS and ₹2,50,000 for SC / ST / PwBD. Think about this before you accept an offer.
