RRB ALP CBAT 2026 Vision Certificate Format Out (CEN 01/2025) — Latest Update
Important news for ALP aspirants shortlisted for the Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)! The Railway Recruitment Board has issued a notice dated 09 October 2026 on the format of the Vision Certificate that you must produce for the CBAT for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot under CEN 01/2025. The notice reminds candidates that the tentative CBAT schedule was published on the official websites of RRBs on 01 October 2026, and that schedule notice gives the tentative CBAT date as 30 October 2026. The new notice itself does not give a separate exam date.
The main rule is simple but strict. You must produce the Vision Certificate in original, in the prescribed format (Annexure VIA of CEN 01/2025), at the time of entry for CBAT, failing which you will not be allowed to attend the exam. RRB has re-issued the format only because some words overlapped in the Annexure VIA printed in CEN 01/2025, so the same format is now reproduced with clarity. The notice clearly says there is no change in the prescribed format of the Vision Certificate. If you already have a certificate in the original Annexure VIA format, the format itself has not changed. But do check one new point: the seal of the Eye Specialist must clearly show his/her Ophthalmology-related education and his/her position in that hospital as Eye Specialist.
| Vision Test | Required Standard (as printed in the proforma) |
|---|---|
| Distant Vision | 6/6, 6/6 without glasses with fogging test (must not accept +2D) |
| Near Vision | Sn. 0.6, 0.6 without glasses |
| Colour Vision | Normal |
| Binocular Vision, Field of Vision & Night Vision | Normal |
The certificate is a proforma for a medical certificate to be obtained from an Eye Specialist by candidates who applied for Assistant Loco Pilot against CEN No. 01/2025. The Eye Specialist examines you, writes the actual observation or value against each standard, and fills in the rest of the form. Here is what a complete certificate must carry:
| Item on the Certificate | What It Must Show |
|---|---|
| Photograph | Your colour passport size photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm), the same one used for your online application registration, attested by the Eye Specialist |
| Candidate’s signature | Your signature in the space given on the form |
| Test results | Actual observation / value recorded against each vision standard |
| Conformity | Eye Specialist strikes out either “fully conforms” or “does not conform” to the vision standards |
| LASIK declaration | Certification that you have not undergone LASIK Surgery or any surgery to correct refractive error |
| Eye Specialist details | Name, Registration No., place, date, signature and seal |
| Seal | Must clearly show the Eye Specialist’s Ophthalmology-related education and position in that hospital as Eye Specialist |
Please do not leave this for the last day. Get the form filled by an Eye Specialist early, check every field and the seal, and keep the original safe with your exam-day documents. The CBAT schedule notice also asks you to carry the same Photo Identity Document in original that you mentioned in your application, failing which you will not be allowed to attend the exam, and to keep your Aadhaar unlocked in the UIDAI system before you reach the centre.
| CBAT Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Vision Certificate format notice | 09 October 2026 |
| CBT-2 score card login available till | 16 October 2026 |
| CBAT to be held | Any time after 25 October 2026 (as per the CBT-2 result notice) |
| CBAT exam date (tentative) | 30 October 2026 |
| CBAT Exam City & Date link + SC/ST Travel Authority | About 10 days before your exam date |
| CBAT e-Call Letter download | About 4 days before your exam date |
Remember, CBT-2 shortlists and cut-off marks are published by each RRB separately, so check your shortlist status only on the website of the RRB you applied to. As the CBT-2 result notice says, the candidature of all candidates qualified for CBAT is purely provisional and is liable to be cancelled at any stage of recruitment, or thereafter, for any inconsistency or deficiency in the data furnished or any malpractice. Being called for CBAT does not entitle anyone to an appointment in the Railways. For more railway exam updates and admit card news, keep visiting GovtJobsAlert.in.

RRB ALP CBT-2 Cut Off Marks 2026 Out (CEN 01/2025) — Latest Update
Good news, ALP aspirants! The normalised CBT-2 cut-off marks for RRB ALP CEN 01/2025 are now out. The notice is dated 01 October 2026 and lists the normalised cut-off marks of the candidates shortlisted for the 3rd Stage Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), based on the CBT-2 held on 28 July 2026. The cut-off notice linked in this update is RRB Malda’s copy. Please remember that each RRB publishes its own cut-off, so these marks apply to RRB Malda candidates only. If you applied to a different RRB, check the cut-off on your own RRB’s website.
| Category | Normalised CBT-2 Cut-Off Marks |
|---|---|
| UR | 60.54421 |
| SC | 32.31293 |
| ST | 25.85034 |
| OBC | 47.95918 |
| EWS | 40.13605 |
| Ex-Servicemen (ExSM) | 55.78232 |
These are normalised marks, not raw scores. One CBT-2 rule matters a lot here: as per CEN conditions, candidates who scored more than the cut-off in Part A but did not qualify in Part B have not been shortlisted for CBAT. So clearing the cut-off alone is not enough. You must have qualified in Part B too. The result notice says you can view your individual result/score card on the RRB portal with your Registration Number and Date of Birth, but only up to 16 October 2026, so check it soon.
| Next Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Score card login available till | 16 October 2026 |
| CBAT Exam City & Date link + SC/ST Travel Authority | About 10 days before your CBAT date |
| CBAT e-Call Letter download | About 4 days before your exam date |
| CBAT exam date (tentative) | 30 October 2026 |
If you are shortlisted, start preparing for CBAT now. On exam day, carry the same Photo Identity Document in original that you gave in your application and the Vision Certificate in original in the prescribed format (Annexure VI A of CEN 01/2025) at the time of entry for CBAT, failing which you will not be allowed to attend the exam. Keep your Aadhaar unlocked in the UIDAI system before you reach the centre. The candidature of all candidates qualified for the 3rd Stage Examination (CBAT) is purely provisional and is liable to be cancelled at any stage of recruitment, or thereafter, for any inconsistency or deficiency in your data or any malpractice. Being called for CBAT does not entitle anyone to an appointment in the Railways. The full CBT-2 result and CBAT details are in the CBT-2 result update on this page.
