Railway Recruitment Cell, Central Railway (RRC/CR) has released a new employment notice for recruitment against the Scouts and Guides Quota for the year 2026-27. There are a total of 12 vacancies — 2 posts in Level-2 and 10 posts in Level-1 across the Mumbai, Bhusawal, Nagpur, Pune and Solapur Divisions. This is a special chance for active Scouts and Guides who hold the required award and want a permanent railway job. These railway jobs do not have any community reservation — the posts are open to all.

Eligibility Criteria – RRC Central Railway Recruitment 2026
Educational Qualification
The academic qualification is different for each level. In addition, every candidate must hold a Scouts & Guides qualification — this is compulsory for both levels.
- Level-1 Post: 10th pass, OR ITI, OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
- Level-2 Post: 12th (10+2) pass with at least 50% marks, OR Matriculation plus a completed Act Apprenticeship, OR Matriculation plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT. (50% is not required for SC/ST/Ex-servicemen.)
- Scouts & Guides qualification (both levels): President Scout, Guide, Rover or Ranger award holder (or Himalayan Wood Badge), active member for the last 5 years, plus the required number of national, railway and state level events.
Candidates who are only 10th pass can apply for Level-1 posts if they meet the scouting conditions.
Age Limit
Age is calculated as on 1 January 2027. Level-1 allows a slightly higher upper age than Level-2.

What is the Salary for RRC Scouts & Guides Posts 2026?
The posts are paid under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) Pay Matrix. Level-1 and Level-2 are the entry pay levels used for these jobs.
- Level-1: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 1 (starting around ₹18,000 per month as per the standard matrix), plus allowances.
- Level-2: 7th CPC Pay Matrix Level 2 (starting around ₹19,900 per month as per the standard matrix), plus allowances.
During the training period only a stipend is paid; on regular appointment you get the minimum pay of the level plus allowances like DA, HRA and TA as admissible.

What is the Selection Process for RRC Scouts & Guides 2026?
Selection is based on a Written Test and marks given for your Scouts & Guides certificates. There is no interview. Separate examinations are held for Level-1 and Level-2.
- A Written Test (CBT/TAB mode) of 60 marks with 40 objective questions and 1 essay question.
- Marks for certificates (40 marks) based on your national, state and district scouting events and courses.
- Candidates equal to 2.5 times the vacancies, who score at least 40% in the Written Test, are shortlisted.
- Document verification and medical fitness test before final appointment.
