What is the Salary and Stipend for RRC NFR Apprentice 2026?

Yes, you will earn while you train. Act Apprentices are paid a monthly stipend as per the rates fixed under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The stipend is not a filler figure — it is clearly stated in the notification.

  • First year: ₹9,600 per month (minimum stipend for NTC/STC holders, effective 11 September 2025)
  • Second year (where one year exemption is admissible): ₹10,560 per month
  • Third year (where two years exemption is admissible): ₹11,040 per month

During your apprenticeship training, you will receive a monthly stipend starting from ₹9,600 and going up to ₹11,040 in higher training years — real income while you learn a valuable railway trade.

Please note that no hostel accommodation is provided, so you will have to arrange your own stay. Stipend rates are revised from time to time by the competent authority.

What is the Selection Process for RRC NFR Apprentice 2026?

The best part is that there is no written exam and no interview. Selection is based purely on your marks (merit) and document verification. Here is how it works:

Merit List Preparation

The merit list is prepared unit-wise, trade-wise and community-wise. Your merit is calculated on the average of your percentage of marks in Matriculation and your ITI marks in the applied trade. For Laboratory Technician (Pathology & Radiology), merit is based on Matriculation marks plus 12th Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) marks.

Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates, equal to 1.5 times the notified slots, are called for Document Verification. You must bring all original certificates and a medical fitness certificate. If two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate is ranked higher. You can track the final merit list and results once they are released.
