Candidates with higher DGMS statutory competency certificates can also apply for Mining Sirdar. Qualifications earned through distance learning or part-time mode, or their equivalent, are not considered, and candidates holding restricted competency certificates are not eligible, because the vacancies cover both underground and opencast mines. A candidate could apply for only one of the two posts — applying for both leads to cancellation of candidature. Where a candidate submitted more than one application, only the one with the higher Application Sequence Number is entertained, and a fee paid against one number is not adjusted against another. What is the Selection Process for WCL Mining Sirdar & Assistant Foreman 2026?
As per the notification, selection is done on the basis of the Computer Based Test, followed by document scrutiny and a medical examination.
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 100 multiple-choice questions — 20 on General Aptitude and 80 technical — one mark each, 90 minutes, bilingual (English and Hindi; the English version is final in case of any doubt). The notification states that wrong answers carry no negative marking, and unattempted questions get zero.
- Minimum qualifying marks: UR / EWS 50, OBC (NCL) 45, SC / ST 40.
