Sub Treasury OfficerFinance, Group-B7 (PwBD: Nil)
Assistant Director (Prosecution)Home, Group-A5 (PwBD: Nil)

Total37 (1 PwBD post)

The single PwBD seat is under Finance & Accounts Officer / Treasury Officer and is only for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing / Partially Deaf disability category. The other three posts carry no PwBD seat. Two more FAO/TO posts are covered by writ petition WP(C) No. 549/2025 and are not included in these 7. The Commission says the vacancies and reservation are based on the “Proforma of Requisition” sent by the departments.

Which post should you aim for? A Commerce or BBA degree opens both Finance posts, an Economics degree opens Treasury Officer, and other backgrounds depend on the subject rules below (maths suits Treasury Officer only). Treasury Officer is the bigger prize at Group-A. If you are an advocate with 7+ years of criminal practice, Assistant Public Prosecutor has 18 of the 37 seats, the largest share in this advertisement.

Who Can Apply for APPSC Recruitment 2026? Mandatory APST Eligibility Conditions

Under Government Notification F.No.AR-33/17/2026-SECT-1-AR dated 26 August 2026, every applicant must satisfy all three conditions below.

CriterionRequirement
Permanent ResidenceCitizen of India and inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh holding a valid Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) issued by the designated Competent Authority, Government of Arunachal Pradesh
Indigenous StatusOriginal inhabitant of Arunachal Pradesh holding an APST Certificate issued by the Competent Authority, as per the tribes listed under the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950
Tribal LanguageMust be able to speak any Indigenous Tribal Language of Arunachal Pradesh and have working knowledge of the local indigenous tribes; the Language Test mechanism follows the same Government Notification

This is the first thing to settle. A strong degree does not help if one of these three is missing, so keep your PRC and APST certificate ready before you think about the syllabus. Candidates from other states, and Arunachal residents without APST status, cannot apply for these posts.

What is the Eligibility and Age Limit for APPSC Treasury Officer and Prosecutor Posts 2026?

Educational Qualification

PostRequirement
Finance & Accounts Officer / Treasury OfficerBachelor Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Economics, OR Bachelor Degree in any discipline with Statistics or Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized University. Any-discipline graduates must have studied either Statistics or Mathematics as a compulsory subject in all semesters/years
Sub Treasury OfficerBachelor Degree in Commerce or Bachelor in Business Administration, OR Bachelor Degree in any discipline with Economics and Statistics as one of the subjects from a recognized University. Any-discipline graduates must have studied either Statistics or Economics as a compulsory subject in all semesters/years
Assistant Director (Prosecution)Bachelor of Law from a recognized University with minimum 7 years of active practice as an advocate in criminal courts, OR experience as a Magistrate of the First Class
Assistant Public ProsecutorBachelor of Law from a recognized University with minimum 7 years of experience in criminal law practice

For the two Finance posts, the “all semesters” rule applies when you use the any-discipline route, for example with a B.Sc. or B.A. If the required subject was taught only in your first year, you do not meet it. Commerce and finance graduates holding a degree named in the first route, and Economics graduates applying for FAO/TO, are not affected by this rule. For Sub Treasury Officer, the main line says “Economics and Statistics” while the proviso says “either Statistics or Economics”, so if you studied only one of them, confirm with APPSC before paying.

Final-semester students can apply for the two Finance posts, but must produce proof of passing in original on or before the interview date. For the two law and judicial posts, the 7-year Experience Certificate or the Magistrate First Class Appointment Order must be uploaded with the online form itself.

The Commission accepts only the date of birth in your Matriculation Certificate. Horoscopes, affidavits, municipal birth extracts and service records are not accepted. Arunachal Government employees claiming relaxation must submit an Appointment Order proving 3 years of continuous regular service in the same line or allied cadre.

Since every applicant here must hold APST status, the APST relaxation clause matters to you directly. We have quoted it exactly as the notification prints it. If you are close to the age boundary, work out your exact age on 12 October 2026 and read the age rule in the official notification before you pay.
