ITI trades together carry 46 of the 58 seats, so ITI pass candidates have the most seats, with Lineman alone at 19. Graduates compete for only 9 seats and diploma holders for 3.
BBMB Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026

Aadhaar is compulsory for online registration. Your trade must match one of the notified trades, so a Fitter ITI cannot take a Lineman seat.
A common mistake is to assume the 40% rule applies to the final year only. The notice asks for 40% in the qualifying examination from a recognised Board or institute, so check your marksheet before you register. If your result is still awaited on 30 November 2026, you will not be considered.
Age Limit
The notice says age is as per the Apprentices Act 1961 and its amendments. It gives no minimum or maximum in years and no relaxation for any category, so confirm your eligibility on the portal before you apply.
Salary and Stipend: What Do BBMB Apprentices Get?

If two candidates tie on marks, the older candidate is preferred, and if the date of birth is also the same, the one who passed matriculation earlier is preferred.
25% of seats in each trade go to candidates holding a residency certificate of the concerned districts of the State or UT where the project, power station or unit is located. Unfilled local seats go to residents of the State where the Grid Sub Station is located, and then to open merit. Selected contracts are registered on the NAPS portal, and the result will be uploaded on the BBMB websites.

Keep your 10th marksheet, ITI certificate and marksheets (or degree or diploma marksheets), category certificate if applicable, domicile certificate if applicable and Aadhaar card ready. Both portals need a registration first, and the application is made on the portal of your group. Use a mobile number and email you will check daily.
