Bihar Panchayati Raj Technical Assistant: Salary & Contract Details

  • Monthly Honorarium: Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly honorarium of ₹27,000. 
  • Nature of Employment: This is a contractual engagement. 
  • Contract Duration: The employment will be effective until March 31, 2026. The service period may be extended upon approval from the competent authority if required. However, there is no claim for extension of service. 

Bihar Technical Assistant Selection Process 2025

The selection of Technical Assistants will be carried out by a selection committee constituted at the district level under the chairmanship of the District Magistrate. The selection process will involve the following stages:

  1. Preparation of Merit List:
    • A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the Diploma in Civil Engineering from online applications. 
    • In case of a tie in marks on the merit list, preference will be given to the candidate with an older age. 
  2. Reservation:
    • The reservation policy of the Bihar government, as per the Bihar Reservation of Vacancies in Posts and Services (for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes) Act, 1991 (as amended1 from time to time) and the rules made thereunder, along with the roster prescribed by the State Government from time to time, will be applicable. 
    • 40% of the total vacant posts, category-wise, will be reserved for candidates holding a Civil Engineering diploma from government polytechnic institutes within Bihar. 
    • A 4% horizontal reservation will be admissible for persons with disabilities as per resolution no. 962 dated 22.01.2021 of the General Administration Department. 
    • A 2% horizontal reservation will be admissible for grandchildren (son’s son/daughter, daughter’s son/daughter) of the state’s freedom fighters, as per letter no. 2526 dated 28.02.2016 of the General Administration Department. 
  3. Counseling and Document Verification:
    • Candidates will be called for counseling based on the merit list.
    • It is mandatory to present original certificates during counseling, corresponding to the information filled in the online application. 
    • If the information provided in the online application is not found to be consistent during verification/counseling, the candidature will be cancelled. 
  4. Waiting List: Vacancies arising from the waiting list can be filled within the next one year. 
  5. Health Certificate: Selected candidates must submit a health certificate issued by the Civil Surgeon-cum-Chief Medical Officer before joining.
