BPSC AEE Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates aspiring to apply for the BPSC AEE Recruitment 2025 must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification:
- A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.E/B.Tech/AMIE) or equivalent in Chemical/ Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Environmental Engineering.
- B.Sc Engineering Degree will also be considered equivalent to B.E/B.Tech.
- For AMIE equivalent degrees, candidates must have passed Section A & B examinations conducted by the Institution of Engineers (India) in the relevant engineering branch, making them an associate member or holding an equivalent regular graduate degree.
- Eligible candidates already in service must forward their application through their current employer.
Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025):
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Maximum Age:
  - Unreserved (Male): 37 years.
  - Backward Class / Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female) & Unreserved (Female): 40 years.
  - Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years.
- Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided for candidates working on a contract basis in similar posts in various departments/institutions/boards of the Bihar Government, equivalent to the period of service rendered, up to a maximum age of 60 years as of August 1, 2025.
- Regular government servants of Bihar Government are eligible for a relaxation of 05 years, provided they have not availed more than 05 chances in competitive examinations.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD) are eligible for a relaxation of 10 years in the upper age limit.
- Ex-servicemen will be given a relaxation of 03 years plus the number of years of service rendered in the defense services, provided their actual age on the application date is not more than 57 years.

Salary & Benefits for BPSC Assistant Environmental Engineer

Selected candidates for the Assistant Environmental Engineer post will be entitled to a salary at Level-9 of the pay matrix. In addition to the basic pay, various allowances and perks will be admissible as per Bihar Government rules.

BPSC AEE Selection Process 2025

The selection process for the BPSC Assistant Environmental Engineer will comprise the following stages:

Written Examination (Objective Type): This will be a competitive examination with a total of 400 marks, consisting of two papers.
- Paper I (100 Marks, 2 hours):
  - General Aptitude (50 questions, 50 marks)
  - Engineering Mathematics (50 questions, 50 marks)
- Paper II (300 Marks, 2 hours): Subject-specific paper based on the candidate’s engineering discipline (Chemical/Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering) (100 questions, 300 marks).
- Negative Marking: For each wrong answer, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

- Minimum qualifying marks: General – 40%, EBC – 34%, BC – 36.5%, SC/ST/Women/PwD – 32%.
Interview (Oral Test): Candidates qualifying the written examination (based on marks obtained and weightage for experience) will be called for an interview, which will carry 50 marks. The number of candidates called for the interview will be two and a half times the number of advertised vacancies. Appearance in the interview is mandatory.
Document Verification: Candidates will be required to produce original documents for verification at the time of the interview or as specified by the Commission.
Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination and the interview. In case of a tie in total marks, preference will be given based on marks in the written exam. If marks in the written exam are also equal, preference will be given based on age, and if age is also the same, then by alphabetical order of name in Devanagari script.

Weightage for Experience: Candidates with satisfactory contractual service in similar posts will be given a weightage of 5 marks per year, up to a maximum of 25 marks. This weightage will be added after obtaining the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam.

Eligible and interested candidates must apply online through the official BPSC website. Follow these steps:

One-Time Registration (OTR):
- Visit the BPSC online application portal.
- If you are a new user, click on the “New user Registration” button to complete the OTR process. This OTR will be valid for all future BPSC advertisements.
- A valid active email ID and mobile number are mandatory for OTR.
- Even if you have registered previously on the old portal, you need to complete the OTR process afresh on the new portal.
Profile Creation: After OTR, you will need to create your profile by filling in personal details, address, other information, qualifications, and experience, and uploading your photo and signature.
Application Submission:
- Log in using your mobile number/email ID and password.
- Go to the “New Application Tab” to find active advertisements.
- Select the advertisement for Assistant Environmental Engineer (Advt. No. 34/2025).
- Fill in the application form with accurate details.
