BPSC System Analyst Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must ensure they meet the specified eligibility criteria concerning educational qualifications and age limits as of the cut-off date to be considered for the position.
Educational Qualification
- Applicants must possess a Master’s degree in Computer Application (MCA), or M.Sc. in Computer Science, or M.Sc. in Information Technology from a recognized university or institute.
Age Limit (as on 01.08.2025)
- Minimum Age: 21 years.
- Maximum Age:
- Unreserved (Male): 37 years.
- Backward Class/Extremely Backward Class (Male & Female) and Unreserved (Female): 40 years.
- Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (Male & Female): 42 years.
Age Relaxation
The BPSC provides age relaxation for certain categories as per government norms:
- Contractual Employees: Candidates working on a contractual basis on the same post in various departments/institutions/boards of the Bihar Government will receive an age relaxation equivalent to the duration of their service, with the maximum age not exceeding 60 years as of August 1, 2025. Even a fraction of a work year will be considered for this relaxation.
- Bihar Government Employees: Regular government servants of Bihar are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years, provided they have not exhausted more than 5 attempts in competitive examinations.
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): A relaxation of 10 years in the maximum age limit is admissible for differently-abled candidates.
- Ex-Servicemen: An age relaxation of 3 years plus the number of years spent in defense service will be granted, provided their actual age on the application date does not exceed 57 years.

Salary & Benefits
The selected candidate for the System Analyst post will be placed in the following pay scale:
- Pay Scale: Level-7

Selection Process
The selection of the candidate will be based on a two-stage process involving a written examination followed by an interview.
Written Examination
The written test will be an objective-type examination with a total of 400 marks, comprising two papers.

- SC/ST, Women, and PwD: 32%
Weightage for Experience
- Candidates with prior satisfactory service on a contractual basis for the same post within the Bihar government will be given a weightage of 5 marks for each completed year of service, up to a maximum of 25 marks. This weightage will be added to the written exam score only after the candidate secures the minimum qualifying marks.
Interview
- Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be invited for an interview (oral test).
- The number of candidates called for the interview will be approximately 2.5 times the number of vacancies.
- The interview will carry a total of 50 marks.
- Attendance in the interview is mandatory; failing to appear will disqualify the candidate from being included in the final merit list.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined scores of the written examination and the interview. In case of a tie in total marks, preference will be given to the candidate with higher marks in the written exam. If the tie persists, the older candidate will be given preference, and if the age is also the same, the candidate whose name appears first in the Devanagari alphabetical order will be ranked higher.
How to Apply for BPSC System Analyst Recruitment 2025
Candidates must apply online through the BPSC’s official application portal. Follow these steps carefully:
- One-Time Registration (OTR):
- Visit the BPSC online application portal.
- It is mandatory to complete One-Time Registration (OTR). Even candidates who have registered on the old portal must complete a fresh OTR on this new portal.
- You will need a valid and active email ID and mobile number for OTR.
- Profile Creation:
- After OTR, you will be guided through a six-step profile creation process:
- Step 1: Personal Information: Enter details like name, category (UR, EWS, BC, EBC, SC, ST), disability status, etc.
- Step 2: Address Information: Fill in your permanent and correspondence addresses.
- Step 3: Other Information: Provide details of any criminal proceedings if applicable.
- Step 4: Qualification Information: Enter your educational details from 10th grade onwards.
- Step 5: Experience Information: If you have relevant work experience, provide the details here.
- Step 6: Upload Photo/Signature & Lock Profile: Capture a live photo using a webcam and upload scanned images of your signature in both English and Hindi. After verifying all details, lock your profile.
- After OTR, you will be guided through a six-step profile creation process:
- Application Submission:
- Once your profile is locked, go to the ‘New Advertisement’ tab to see active recruitments.
- Find the advertisement for System Analyst (39/2025) and click on ‘Apply’.
- Proceed to pay the application fee to complete the submission process.
