What is the Selection Process for BRO GREF Recruitment 2026?

The selection is a multi-stage process where only the Written Examination score counts towards the final merit list. The remaining stages — PET, Practical Test and Medical — are qualifying in nature.

Stage 1: Written Examination (OMR-Based)

The written exam is conducted in OMR mode (bilingual — English and Hindi) and contains both objective and subjective sections. Topics cover General Intelligence, General Awareness, Numerical Aptitude, English / Hindi language, and trade-specific subjects. Refer to the syllabus and exam pattern page for detailed preparation guidance.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Qualifying only. Candidates have to clear running, jumping and other physical standards prescribed for BRO Group C posts. PET marks are NOT added to final merit.

Stage 3: Practical Test (Trade Test)

A hands-on trade-skill test relevant to the applied post — for example, drawing exercises for Draughtsman, typing for Hindi Typist, machinery handling for OEM, electrical fault-finding for Electrician.

Stage 4: Primary Medical Examination (PME) & Document Verification

Final stage — original certificates are checked and medical fitness is confirmed before appointment.

Final merit is prepared strictly on the basis of marks scored in the Written Examination only, subject to qualifying all the other stages.
