Education and Experience
Every degree must be from a Govt. recognised University or Institute. Experience always means post-qualification experience, and the figures below are the minimum.

Preference for DGM/AM Safety posts goes to people with Metro, Railways, Flyover, Bridges or High-rise building experience. For all posts, preference goes to candidates who have worked in Gujarat for at least 3 years and know the Gujarati language.
Age Limit
Maximum age is counted as on 3 November 2026. The notification gives no category-wise age relaxation for OBC, SC, ST, PwBD or ex-servicemen. Age limit does not apply to GMRCL employees, but relaxation is not given to officials re-employed in GMRCL after superannuation.

Pay-scale Condition (DGM, AM and SE only)
Besides degree and experience, applicants for these three posts must also meet a pay-scale or CTC condition. No such condition is given for the two Engineer posts.

Deputation candidates must be working in Indian Railways, a Metro Rail organisation, or a State or Central Govt PSU, Board or organisation. Serving GMRC staff with at least two years in their present designation and grade as on 3 November 2026 can apply through proper channel.
What is the Salary for GMRC Recruitment 2026?
Pay follows the revised IDA scale of the post. These are the figures printed in the notification. For deputation, pay is as per standard terms and conditions.

Apart from pay, selected candidates get Group medical coverage and Group personal accident insurance as per GMRCL policy. For IDA/CDA scale employees, the HRA percentage may change with the place of posting. The notification does not list an in-hand figure, so do not rely on guesses from others.
What is the Selection Process for GMRC Recruitment 2026?

Preference goes to candidates with experience in the same grade or the immediate lower grade, with 2 years in that grade. If enough suitable candidates are not available, candidates from a lower pay scale who meet the qualification, total experience and age rules may be considered. Requests to change interview date or venue will not be entertained. Meeting the minimum qualification or experience does not give any right to an interview.
