Vacancy Breakdown
The HSSC CET 2025 notification is for conducting the Common Eligibility Test. The actual number of vacancies for various Group-C posts will be advertised by the Commission after the CET results are published, based on requisitions received from different departments. Candidates who qualify the CET will then be eligible to apply for these specific Group-C posts as per their CET merit.
Eligibility Criteria for HSSC CET 2025
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria to appear for the HSSC CET 2025 for Group C posts:
Minimum Essential Qualification
- The minimum educational qualification is 10+2/equivalent or Matric with an additional qualification for eligibility to appear in CET for Group C posts.
- An applicant who is due to appear for the examination to attain the prescribed qualification during the year 2025, but does not possess it on or before the last date of submission of the Online Application Form for CET, shall also be eligible.
Age Criteria & Age Relaxations
- Age Limit: A candidate should not be less than 18 years of age and not more than 42 years of age as on the closing date of registration (June 12, 2025).
- Age Relaxation:
- For Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, a 5-year relaxation in age is admissible.
- For disabled persons covered under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016:
- 10 years relaxation in age (+5 years if PwD applicant belongs to S/Caste, S/Tribe, B/Classes, EWS Category) subject to a maximum of 52 years, for Group C & D Posts.
- Wives of military personnel disabled while in military service, widowed or legally divorced women, judicially separated women residing separately for more than two years, and unmarried women are eligible for a 5-year age relaxation.
- Ex-servicemen (including Short Service Commissioned Officers and Emergency Commissioned Officers) get relaxation to the extent of their military service added by three years, provided they rendered continuous military service for not less than six months and were released otherwise than by dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency.
- Persons who have already worked or are presently working on an adhoc/contract/work-charged/daily wages basis in any Department/Board/Corporation of Haryana Government get relaxation equal to the number of completed years on an equivalent post, subject to a maximum age of 52 years. This benefit is not available if once appointed on a regular basis with age relaxation.

Selection Process of HSSC CET 2025
The selection process involves the Common Eligibility Test (CET) followed by a skill and/or written examination for Group C posts.
CET Examination Criteria and Pattern
- Question Paper Level: The question paper will be of the Senior Secondary Education (10+2) level, except for Hindi and English, which will be of Matriculation level.
- Pattern of Examination:
- Total number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): 100
- Total marks: 100
- Duration of examination: 1 Hour 45 Minutes (105 minutes)
- Question Type: All questions will be compulsory and the paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi). The examination will be offline (OMR based).
- Answering: For every question, four options will be provided. Candidates need to fill the corresponding circle in the OMR sheet.
- Negative Marking:
- There is no negative marking for a wrong option.
- If a candidate does not wish to attempt a question, they must fill the fifth circle/bubble in the OMR sheet.
- Failure to fill any circle for a question (i.e., leaving it un-attempted) will result in a deduction of one mark.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks for CET:
- General Category: 50%
- Reserved Category (both vertical and horizontal): 40%
- Syllabus: The detailed syllabus for CET is provided in Appendix-C. It generally includes:
- General Awareness, Reasoning, quantitative ability, English, Hindi, and computer knowledge (for Group C).
- 25% weightage for History, Current Affairs, Literature, Geography, Environment, Culture, etc., of Haryana.
Process for Recruitment to Group C Posts (After CET)
- Advertisement of Posts: After the CET marks are published, HSSC will advertise available Group C posts, including the syllabus and procedure for the skill and/or written examination.
- Application for Specific Posts: Eligible candidates, based on their CET merit list, will be invited to apply electronically if they are willing to appear for the skill and/or written examination for those posts.
- Shortlisting for Skill/Written Exam: The maximum number of candidates eligible to appear for the skill and/or written examination will generally be ten times the total number of advertised posts. If multiple candidates achieve the cut-off CET marks, all such candidates will be considered.
- Common Skill/Written Exam: For posts with similar qualifications and pay scales, HSSC may hold a common skill and/or written examination.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks in Skill/Written Exam:
- General Category: 50%
- Reserved Category: 40%
- Final Selection: The Commission will shortlist candidates for selection based on marks obtained in the written/skill examination.
How to Apply for HSSC CET 2025
Candidates must apply online through the designated portal. Follow these steps:
- Registration: Before submitting online applications, ensure you are registered on the designated portal.
- Candidates who appeared in or registered for CET 2022 (held on Nov 5th & 6th, 2022) must use the same CET Registration No.
- New applicants will be allocated a Registration Number.
- Fill Application Form: Fill in all required particulars and upload necessary documents.
- Accuracy: Candidates are advised to fill the online application form themselves very carefully and check all details before final submission. No change/correction/modification will be allowed after submission.
- Upload Documents: Scan original documents and upload them at the designated place. If a certificate is printed on both sides, scan and upload both. A signed copy of the application form must be uploaded at the time of final submission.
- Multiple Registrations: Submitting multiple registrations and appearing in the examination more than once will lead to candidature cancellation and debarment. An undertaking (Annexure-VII) must be uploaded.
- Final Printout: After successful submission, take a final printout of the application form and uploaded documents for your records.
- Deadline: Apply online well in advance without waiting for the last date.

The standard rate for CET fee is Rs. 1,000/- (or as fixed by the Government). The fee structure is as follows:

- Scanned copy of minimum educational academic qualifications and Matriculation Certificate.
