Eligibility Criteria for Indian Army Civilian Jobs

To apply for these posts, you must meet certain educational and age requirements.

Educational Qualification

  • Vehicle Mechanic, Electrician, Telecom Mechanic, Engineer Equipment Mechanic: Pass in 10+2 with a certificate from a recognized ITI in the relevant trade OR Armed Forces Personnel/Ex-servicemen from the appropriate trade.
  • Machinist, Fitter, Welder, Tin and Copper Smith, Upholster: ITI certificate from a recognized institute in the respective trade.
  • Storekeeper / Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Pass in 12th class. LDC applicants also need a typing speed of 35 wpm in English or 30 wpm in Hindi on a computer.
  • Fireman: Matriculation (10th) pass. Must be physically fit and knowledgeable about fire-fighting equipment.
  • Cook: Matriculation (10th) pass and knowledge of Indian cooking.
  • Tradesman Mate / Washerman: Matriculation (10th) pass from a recognized board.

Age Limit

  • The age limit for all posts is 18 to 25 years.
  • Age Relaxation:
    • SC/ST: 5 years
    • OBC (Non-creamy layer): 3 years
    • Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD): 10 years (13 for OBC, 15 for SC/ST).
