Eligibility Criteria: Indian Army NCC SSC Officer 2026
Educational Qualification
- Graduation Degree from any recognized university is required.
- Final year students can also apply, provided they complete their degree before 1 October 2026.
- NCC ‘C’ Certificate with minimum ‘B’ Grade is mandatory for General Category candidates.
- Wards of Battle Casualties do not need NCC ‘C’ Certificate.
- Minimum 2-3 years of service in Senior Division/Wing of NCC is required.

Salary and Benefits: Indian Army NCC SSC Officer Pay Structure
Selected candidates will receive a stipend of ₹56,100 per month during the 49-week training at OTA Chennai. After commissioning as Lieutenant, the CTC is approximately ₹17-18 Lakh per annum (excluding free medical cover and annual home town travel).
- Basic Pay (Lieutenant): ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Level 10)
- Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month (fixed)
- Dearness Allowance (DA): As applicable to civilian employees
- Dress Allowance: ₹20,000 per year
- Transport Allowance: ₹7,200 + DA (metro cities) / ₹3,600 + DA (other places)
- Field Area Allowance: Up to ₹42,500 per month (based on posting area)
- Army Group Insurance: ₹1.25 Crore coverage
- Option for Permanent Commission after 10 years of service
Selection Process: Indian Army NCC Special Entry 2026
Shortlisting for SSB
Applications will be shortlisted based on bonus marks out of 100, combining NCC ‘C’ Certificate grade (max 50 marks) and graduation percentage (max 50 marks). NCC ‘A’ Grade gets 50 marks and ‘B’ Grade gets 25 marks. Shortlisting is expected in the first week of May 2026.
SSB Interview
Shortlisted candidates will appear for a 5-day SSB Interview at Selection Centres in Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, or Jalandhar during May/June 2026. The SSB has two stages — candidates who clear Stage I proceed to Stage II. Those who fail Stage I are sent back the same day.
Medical Examination and Merit List
Candidates recommended by SSB will undergo a medical examination. The final merit list is based on SSB marks. Selected candidates will receive joining letters for OTA Chennai.
