Indian Navy 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry 2026 — Become a Permanent Commissioned Officer After Class 12
Big news for 12th-pass students with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) — the Indian Navy 10+2 (B.Tech) Cadet Entry Scheme for Jan 2027 course is open with 60 vacancies (30 Mechanical Engineering + 30 Electronics & Communication Engineering). Selected cadets get a fully-paid 4-year B.Tech degree at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, awarded by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) — books, clothing, messing and all training costs are borne by the Indian Navy. After successful completion, you are commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant — Permanent Commissioned Officer in the Technical Branch of the Indian Navy. If you have been searching for Defence Govt Jobs right after Class 12, this is the cleanest route.
The online application window is 29 May 2026 to 18 June 2026 through the Indian Navy careers portal. There is no separate written exam — shortlisting is done purely on your JEE (Main) 2026 All India Common Rank List (CRL), followed by SSB Interview and medical examination. Up to 8 women cadets (4 in each branch) are eligible, and from the Mechanical Engineering pool, 7 top-performing cadets are streamed into B.Tech in Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding at NCW, Kochi. In this article from GovtJobsAlert.in, we will walk through eligibility, dates, SSB, training and the exact step-by-step application process.
