Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy B.Tech Entry 2026

Candidates must strictly meet the educational, age, and entrance exam criteria to be eligible for the SSB interview.

Educational Qualification

  • Essential: Passed Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from any recognized Board.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • At least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
    • At least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

JEE Main 2025 Requirement

Selection Process Explained

The selection process is straightforward and based on merit in JEE Main followed by SSB Interview.

  1. Shortlisting for SSB: The Naval Headquarters reserves the right to fix a cut-off rank based on JEE (Main) 2025 All India Common Rank List (CRL). Shortlisted candidates will be informed via email/SMS.
  2. SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will appear for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview scheduled at Bangalore, Bhopal, Kolkata, or Visakhapatnam from March 2026 onwards.
    • The SSB interview consists of two stages: Stage I (Intelligence Test, Picture Perception, and Discussion Test) and Stage II (Psychological testing, Group testing, and Interview).
  3. Medical Examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB will undergo a strict medical examination.
  4. Final Merit List: A merit list will be prepared based on SSB marks. Selection is subject to medical fitness and police verification.
