NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Eligibility Criteria 2025

Aspiring candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualification:
    • A regular/full-time M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized Indian University/Institute recognized by the appropriate statutory authority. 
    • Minimum 60% marks in aggregate are required. 
    • SC, ST & PwBD candidates with passing marks are also eligible to apply. 
    • Final year/semester students who expect their results by 31.07.2025 may also apply. They must be able to produce the final mark sheet/provisional degree/course completion certificate with the applicable marks percentage on or before 31.07.2025. 
  • Age Limit:
    • The maximum age limit is 27 years as of the last date of online application (31.05.2025). 
    • Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XSM candidates is applicable as per Government guidelines. 
      • Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates. 
      • Upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years for OBC candidates. 
      • Upper age limit is relaxed by 10 years for PwBD candidates. 
      • Relaxation of age for Ex-Servicemen will be as per Govt. guidelines. 
  • Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.

NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates for the Assistant Chemist Trainee position will receive an attractive compensation package:

  • Pay Scale: Candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 30,000 – 1,20,000/-. 
  • Basic Pay: The starting basic pay will be Rs. 30,000/- (E0 Grade). 
  • Allowances & Benefits: Other benefits such as Dearness Allowance, other perquisites and allowances, and terminal benefits will be admissible as per company rules in force from time to time during training and after absorption. 
  • Training: Selected candidates will undergo one year of training at various places. 
  • Service Bond: Selected candidates belonging to General, EWS, and OBC categories will be required to execute a service bond of Rs. 1,00,000/-. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories, the bond amount will be Rs. 50,000/-. This bond requires them to serve the company for at least 3 years after the successful completion of the one-year training. 

NTPC Assistant Chemist Trainee Selection Process 2025

The selection process for the Assistant Chemist Trainee will involve the following stages:

  1. All India Based Online Selection Test: Eligible candidates will have to appear for this test. The test will consist of two parts:
    • Subject Knowledge Test
    • Executive Aptitude Test Candidates must qualify separately in both parts of the test. 
  2. Document Verification: Based on category-wise merit and the number of vacancies, candidates will be shortlisted for document verification. 
  3. Medical Examination: Before joining, candidates will have to undergo a medical examination by the NTPC Medical Board/Officer. The decision of the medical board will be final and binding.
