RWF Apprentice 2026: Selection Process Explained

Merit-Based Selection

The selection is purely merit-based — there is no written exam. Your merit is calculated based on the percentage of marks in 10th Std / Matriculation across all subjects.

Tie-Breaking Rules

If two candidates have the same percentage:

  1. The candidate with older age gets preference
  2. If age is also same, the candidate with an earlier 10th passing date gets preference

Trade Allotment

Trades are allotted in descending order of merit. If a particular trade doesn’t have enough candidates, the shortfall is filled from candidates of other trades.

Document Verification & Medical Test

Selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test (certificate from a Government Doctor not below Assistant Surgeon rank). Original documents will be verified before engagement. Candidates must also register on the Apprenticeship India Portal at the official government portal.
