Educational Qualification and Experience
You qualify through one of two routes. Both the degree and the full-time experience must be held as on 31 October 2026.

The educational qualification given is the minimum. The experience certificate from your employer must clearly say that you have experience in the related field. Without a proper certificate, the Bank has the right to cancel your candidature at any time. Candidates should also be medically fit and an Indian citizen, and the Bank will check the original documents only after you are shortlisted for the interview.

Both ages are counted as on 31.10.2026. The 40 years is for the Unreserved category. Reserved category candidates get age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines, but the notification does not list the number of years for each category. Cumulative age relaxation is not available under any combination of items. If you claim relaxation, you must show the certificate at the interview if shortlisted.

What is the Selection Process for SBI Assistant Manager (Fire) 2026?

The Professional Knowledge section covers Fire Engineering, Fire Service Administration and Fire Service Regulatory Acts and By-laws. There is no penalty for wrong answers in the online test. A good plan is to practise the syllabus and exam pattern topics every day, because the test carries 70% of the merit.
Category-wise, an adequate number of candidates who qualify in the online test will be called for the interview of 100 marks. The qualifying marks for the interview are decided by the Bank. The final merit list is made on normalised marks.
