Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025)
- Minimum Age: 18 years for all posts (21 years for Junior Training Officer posts).

- For ‘Others’ (Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs): The maximum age limit varies from 30 to 47 years depending on the post. Please refer to the official notification for details.
- For SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs, and Destitute Widows of all castes: There is No Maximum Age Limit for most posts, which means candidates should not have completed 60 years of age.
Age relaxation is applicable for Persons with Benchmark Disability and Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.

Salary & Benefits (Pay Scale)
The salary for the selected candidates will be based on the pay level assigned to each post. The pay levels range from Level 1 to Level 20 in the pay matrix, offering a competitive salary along with other government allowances and benefits.
- Level 20: Rs. 37,700 – Rs. 1,38,500
- Level 10-15: Rs. 20,600 – Rs. 1,34,200
- Level 1-8: Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 75,900

Selection Process
The selection for the TNPSC CTSE will be based on a single-stage written examination followed by certificate verification.
- Written Examination: The exam will consist of two papers:
- Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts):
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) – 100 Questions (Qualifying in nature)
- Part B: General Studies (SSLC Standard) – 75 Questions
- Part C: Aptitude and Mental Ability (SSLC Standard) – 25 Questions
- Paper-II (Subject Paper):
- Subject-specific paper based on the post applied for (Diploma / ITI Standard) – 200 Questions
- Paper-I (Compulsory for all posts):
- Certificate Verification: Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for Onscreen and Physical Certificate Verification.
- Counselling: For applicable posts, eligible candidates will be called for counselling based on their rank for final post-allotment.
The final selection will be based on the total marks obtained in Paper-I (Parts B & C) and Paper-II, subject to the rule of reservation.

- One Time Registration (OTR): If you are a new user, you must first complete the One Time Registration on the TNPSC website by paying a registration fee of Rs. 150/-. This registration is valid for 5 years.
