What Is the Eligibility for UCIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

Educational Qualification

The qualification depends on the type of apprenticeship:

Ex-ITI Trade Apprentices:

  • Mate (Mines): 10th / Matric pass
  • All other trades: ITI certificate in the relevant trade (Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Turner/Machinist, Mechanic Diesel, Carpenter, Plumber)

Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:

  • Diploma in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

Graduate Apprentices:

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mining, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • B.A./BBA for Administration/Purchase posts
  • B.Com for Finance posts (CMA Intermediate course candidates get preference)

If you hold an ITI qualification, the Trade Apprentice posts are a great fit. For engineering graduates, the Graduate Apprentice positions offer excellent PSU experience.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 25 years (as on 9 May 2026)

Age Relaxation: As per Government of India guidelines for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, and other applicable categories.

Important: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act in any organisation are NOT eligible to apply.

What Is the Stipend for UCIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

The stipend is as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Apprenticeship Rules 1992/2019/2025 as amended from time to time.

  • Trade Apprentices: Stipend as per NAPS (National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme) guidelines
  • Diploma Apprentices: Stipend as per NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme) guidelines
  • Graduate Apprentices: Stipend as per NATS guidelines

The current government-prescribed stipend ranges are approximately ₹7,000 to ₹9,000 per month for Trade Apprentices and ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 per month for Graduate/Diploma Apprentices, depending on the applicable rules.

Note: This is an apprenticeship training programme, NOT a regular employment. There is no obligation on UCIL to provide employment after completion of training.

What Is the Selection Process for UCIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026?

Selection is based purely on merit — percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. There is no written test or interview.

Selection Stages

  2. Merit list preparation based on marks in qualifying examination
  3. Physical verification of original documents during joining

Selection Preference Order

  1. First Preference: Land Displaced Persons (LDP) of the Tummalapalle area
  2. Second Preference: Local candidates within 5 km radius (Project Affected People)
  3. Third Preference: UCIL Employees’ Wards
