Eligibility Criteria — UPSC Principal & Vice Principal 51/2026

  • Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 10 years of teaching experience as Vice Principal / PGT / TGT in a recognised school or intermediate college. Doctorate and administrative charge experience are desirable.
  • Vice Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 2 years of experience as a Post Graduate Teacher or 3 years as a Trained Graduate Teacher.

What is the Salary for UPSC 51/2026 Principal & Vice Principal?

The pay is fixed under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. These are Group ‘A’ Gazetted posts, so the pay and allowances are excellent.

  • Principal: Pay Matrix Level-12 (₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200 as per the 7th CPC matrix)
  • Vice Principal: Pay Matrix Level-10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500)

What is the Selection Process for UPSC 51/2026?

Selection has two stages — a written test followed by an interview. Both posts share a common test.

Stage 1: Combined Recruitment Test (CRT)

A Pen & Paper Combined Recruitment Test will be held on 1 November 2026. It is objective-type, 300 marks, 2 hours duration, in English and Hindi, with negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer.
