In a corrigendum notice dated 16 October 2026, the Commission has rescheduled the Combined Recruitment Test (CRT) for the 828 posts of Principal and Vice-Principal (124 and 704 vacancies respectively) in the Education Department, Government of NCT of Delhi.
In supersession of the advertisement, the CRT, earlier fixed for 1 November 2026, will now be held on 9 January 2027 in the forenoon (FN) session, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The corrigendum does not reopen applications, which closed on 14 August 2026, and it does not mention any other change.
As per the original advertisement, the e-Admit Card will be made available on the UPSC website before the test, so keep checking upsc.gov.in. - Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 10 years of teaching experience as Vice Principal / PGT / TGT in a recognised school or intermediate college. Doctorate and administrative charge experience are desirable.
- Vice Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 2 years of experience as a Post Graduate Teacher or 3 years as a Trained Graduate Teacher.

What is the Salary for UPSC 51/2026 Principal & Vice Principal?
The pay is fixed under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. These are Group ‘A’ Gazetted posts.

What is the Selection Process for UPSC 51/2026?
Selection has two stages — a written test followed by an interview. Both posts share a common test.
Stage 1: Combined Recruitment Test (CRT)
A Pen & Paper Combined Recruitment Test will now be held on 1 November 2026 9 January 2027 (Revised) in the forenoon session, 9:30 am to 11:30 am. It is objective-type, 300 marks, 2 hours duration, in English and Hindi, with negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer.
