- Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 10 years of teaching experience as Vice Principal / PGT / TGT in a recognised school or intermediate college. Doctorate and administrative charge experience are desirable.
- Vice Principal: Master’s Degree from a recognised University, plus B.Ed., plus 2 years of experience as a Post Graduate Teacher or 3 years as a Trained Graduate Teacher.

What is the Salary for UPSC 51/2026 Principal & Vice Principal?
The pay is fixed under the 7th CPC Pay Matrix. These are Group ‘A’ Gazetted posts, so the pay and allowances are excellent.

What is the Selection Process for UPSC 51/2026?
Selection has two stages — a written test followed by an interview. Both posts share a common test.
Stage 1: Combined Recruitment Test (CRT)
A Pen & Paper Combined Recruitment Test will be held on 1 November 2026. It is objective-type, 300 marks, 2 hours duration, in English and Hindi, with negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer.
