What is the Selection Process for UPSC Special Recruitment 09/2026?
UPSC fills these posts through Recruitment by Selection, not a big written mains exam. The process is designed to pick the most suitable specialist candidate.
Shortlisting
If the Commission receives a large number of applications, it will shortlist candidates for interview on the basis of Desirable Qualification, higher educational qualification, or longer/higher experience — or by holding a Recruitment Test (RT).
Interview / Personality Test
Shortlisted candidates face an interview of 100 marks. The category-wise minimum suitability marks are UR-50, OBC-45, SC/ST/PwBD-40. Where a Recruitment Test is held, you must clear the minimum standard at both the test and the interview. Final selection is based on merit in this process.
