Who Must Take the AP Special TET 2026? Eligibility Explained
The press note says that, as per Supreme Court orders, all teachers appointed before 2011 who are currently working as teachers must clear TET. Because of this, the Government of Andhra Pradesh decided to hold a separate TET only for in-service teachers working in government-managed schools.
The press note lists the school managements covered:
| School Management | Covered Under Special TET |
|---|---|
| Government | Yes |
| Local Body | Yes |
| APREIS | Yes |
| Government Welfare Society Residential | Yes |
| AP Model Schools | Yes |
| Private Aided | Yes |
| Other Government | Yes |
The press note does not list paper-wise eligibility or qualifying marks. Read the TET notification and Information Bulletin on the official website before the exam. You can also browse other teaching and faculty jobs on our site.
Is There Any Vacancy or Salary in AP Special TET 2026?
This is important to understand. The AP Special TET is not a recruitment. It is an eligibility test for teachers who already have a job. So the press note announces no vacancies and states no salary or pay scale. Clearing the test is what the Supreme Court order requires of teachers appointed before 2011, and that is why the department is running it separately for in-service teachers.
What is the AP Special TET 2026 Exam Date and Session Timing?
The exam will run from 11-10-2026 to 21-10-2026. The schedule says both sessions are held on all exam days:

| Session-II | 2.30 PM to 5.00 PM |
The press note does not give a paper-wise or date-wise schedule. So check your own hall ticket carefully and note the date, session and centre printed on it.
