The Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) has opened applications for 255 posts across six notifications. The biggest is Assistant Statistical Officer (ASO) with 196 openings and pay of Rs 37,640 – 1,15,500. The rest are Inspector of Factories, Analyst Grade-II, Assistant Director (two services) and Legislature Reporters. If you are looking for Andhra Pradesh government jobs, this is a big batch.
Applications run from 13 October 2026 to 2 November 2026 (11:59 PM), online only. Only the ASO notice is the full detailed one. The other five are brief notices, so many details are still to come. Read your own post carefully below, and keep visiting GovtJobsAlert.in for updates when the detailed notices arrive.

How Many Vacancies Are There in APPSC Recruitment 2026?
The figures add up to 255. Four of them are marked CF in the notice, three under English Reporters and one under Telugu Reporters. The notices say vacancies are subject to variation once the departments confirm.
| Post | Notification | Vacancies |
|---|---|---|
| Assistant Statistical Officer | 20/2026 | 196 |
| Inspector of Factories | 14/2026 | 12 |

| Telugu Reporters (01 CF) | 22/2026 | 1 |
| Assistant Director, Tribal Welfare State Service | 10/2026 | 1 |
| Total | Six notifications | 255 |
Only the ASO notice gives a category split. For the other posts, the brief notices say the break-up will come in the detailed notification, so no category numbers are shown for them. ASO is a zonal post, and the split below shows Open and Local seats.
| ASO Category | Open + Local | Total |
|---|---|---|
| OC | 6 + 77 | 83 |
| SC-I | 0 + 2 | 2 |
| SC-II | 0 + 12 | 12 |
| SC-III | 0 + 13 | 13 |
| ST | 0 + 13 | 13 |
| BC-A | 1 + 16 | 17 |
| BC-B | 0 + 16 | 16 |
| BC-C | 0 + 3 | 3 |
| BC-D | 0 + 12 | 12 |
| BC-E | 0 + 7 | 7 |
| EWS | 0 + 18 | 18 |
| Total | 7 + 189 | 196 |
| ASO Zone | Open + Local | Total |
|---|---|---|
| Zone I | 1 + 30 | 31 |
| Zone II | 1 + 20 | 21 |
| Zone III | 1 + 27 | 28 |
| Zone IV | 2 + 39 | 41 |
| Zone V | 1 + 38 | 39 |
| Zone VI | 1 + 35 | 36 |
Horizontal seats within the 196 are 45 for women, 9 for Meritorious Sports Persons and 9 for persons with benchmark disabilities. Almost every ASO seat is a Local seat, so your zone matters a lot. You count as local in the zone where you studied for at least four consecutive years before and including the year you appeared for Class 7. If you studied in a school up to Class 7, you must give study certificates, because a residence certificate will not be accepted in that case. BC-E reservation is subject to pending court cases.
