Every qualification must come from an institute approved by the Government or recognised by AICTE or UGC, and eligibility is reckoned as on 31 August 2026. One condition catches people out: no relaxation in the minimum percentage of marks is given to any category. These are IDA scales: the 3% is the annual increment on basic pay, and the second figure is the ceiling, not a starting salary.
Management Trainees have one more condition attached to that pay, and it is the line MT applicants must read twice. You train for one year, execute a service agreement-cum-bond of ₹2 lakh plus 12% interest per year, and serve CONCOR for a minimum of three years excluding the training period. Complete the training and you are absorbed as Assistant Manager in the E1 grade. The notification prescribes this bond and training only for MT posts.

Selection differs by cadre, and this is the difference most candidates miss. Assistant Officer selection is purely on CBT performance — there is no GD or interview stage for AO post codes. For MT posts, whether CONCOR holds a group discussion, an interview or both is its own decision and it is final. No stage-wise weightage is published.

The CBT runs 90 minutes, or 120 minutes for eligible PwBD candidates using a scribe. Each question carries five answer choices and one-fourth of a mark (0.25) is deducted for every wrong answer, so blind guessing costs you. The paper is set in English and Hindi only, and where the versions differ the English one prevails. MT and AO sit the CBT on the same day in two shifts.
