What is the Eligibility for CSB MESSO Sericulture Assistant Recruitment 2026?
Sericulture Assistant Educational Qualification
You need any one of these six routes. All qualifications must be from a recognised university or institute.
| Route | Essential Qualification |
|---|---|
| 1 | Three-year full-time degree in Sericulture |
| 2 | Four-year full-time degree in Sericulture |
| 3 | Three-year full-time degree + PG Diploma in Sericulture |
| 4 | Four-year full-time bachelor degree in Agriculture Sciences or Forestry |
| 5 | Three-year full-time degree in Biological Sciences (Zoology, Botany or Biology) or Biotechnology + PG Diploma in Sericulture |
| 6 | Three-year full-time bachelor degree in Biology Sciences (Zoology, Botany or Biology) or Biotechnology + one year experience in Sericultural project work |
Desirable: work experience in silkworm rearing and grainage, sericulture, or a related field in the pre-cocoon sector.
Look carefully at routes 5 and 6. A plain B.Sc. in Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology is not enough on its own — you also need either a PG Diploma in Sericulture or one year of sericultural project experience. If you are applying through route 6, keep your experience certificate ready, because applicants with work experience must submit documents to prove it. This is a graduate-level government job, but only for these specific subjects.

The notification does not mention any age relaxation for any category, so check the official notification yourself before you assume you get one. What is the Salary for CSB MESSO Sericulture Assistant 2026?
| Component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Consolidated remuneration | ₹21,000 per month |
| House Rent Allowance | HRA, in addition |
This is a fixed monthly remuneration, not a regular pay-level salary. The notification does not give the HRA rate, so we have not guessed an in-hand figure. Remember that this is a purely contractual engagement, initially for a period not exceeding one year. It gives no right to regularisation, absorption, continuation or permanent appointment in CSB. Treat it as valuable field experience in the silk sector, not a permanent job.
