What the advertisement itself says:
- Research score: minimum A/R score of 75 for Associate Professor and 120 for Professor, as per the UGC notification of 18 July 2018.
- Marks relaxation: for Economics (USME), Management (USME), Management (DSM), Mathematics and Computing, Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Engineering Physics, Biotechnology (non-engineering candidates) and Humanities (Economics/English), the 55% marks need is relaxed by 5% for SC, ST, OBC (NCL-Delhi) and PwBD candidates at Bachelor’s and Master’s level. PhD holders who passed Master’s before 19 September 1991 also get 55% reduced to 50%. This is based on qualifying marks only, without grace marks.
- Equivalents: a four-year B.Sc. (Engg.), B.E., B.Tech. or B.S. counts as equivalent, and so do M.Sc. (Engg.), M.E., M.Tech. and M.S. AMIE/IETE in the relevant branches is also accepted. Where no class is awarded, 60% aggregate counts as first class.
- Foreign degrees: need an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), wherever applicable.
- Citizenship: you must be a citizen of India.
- Cut-off date: qualification, experience and certificates are checked as on 7 December 2026.
Age Limit
There is no upper age limit for Professor and Associate Professor. The age of retirement follows the university norms. For teaching, industry or research experience, only the period after you become eligible under the Recruitment Rules counts, with at least 11 months of commitment per year. Any stint shorter than 6 months is not counted.

Normally 10 candidates for the first post and 5 for each further post are called for interview, as needed. If a reserved category cut-off is higher than the UR cut-off, reserved candidates scoring equal to or above the UR cut-off are also shortlisted. Reservation Rules You Must Know
- OBC: only OBC (NCL-Delhi) candidates get the OBC benefit. OBC candidates from outside Delhi and creamy layer candidates must apply as UR. The OBC-NCL certificate must be issued on or after 1 April 2026.
- EWS: you need the Income and Asset Certificate for FY 2026-27, based on FY 2025-26 income.
- Certificates: all category and PwBD certificates must be issued on or before 7 December 2026.
- PwBD: horizontal reservation, only for the identified disciplines. An unfilled PwBD post may be filled by another suitable candidate and carried forward.
- Own merit: a reserved-category candidate selected on the same standard as UR is adjusted against an unreserved post, not a reserved one.
- Category change: not allowed after you choose it in the online form.
