Key Highlights of ESIC Recruitment 2026
ESIC is a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. It is setting up a stronger actuarial team and a new Data & Analytics Branch at headquarters. The reasons given are actuarial valuation of the ESI Scheme and data protection duties under the DPDP Act, 2023. This is purely a contractual engagement and not a regular government post. The initial term is three years, and ESIC may extend it by two more years, one year at a time, based on your performance and its continued need. The extension is at the sole discretion of the Competent Authority.

Most posts ask for post-qualification experience, counted after you earned the essential qualification; for the Chief Actuary it starts after the fellowship. The Sr. Actuarial Specialist (Valuation), Actuarial Analyst and Statistical / Research Officer posts do not use that wording.
Each post also lists “desirable” qualifications, such as a Master’s degree, certifications or government experience. They help your shortlisting score but are not compulsory.
What is the ESIC Age Limit 2026?
The notification fixes only an upper age limit for each post. It does not give a minimum age, an age relaxation for any category, or a date on which age is counted.
| Upper Age Limit | Posts |
|---|---|
| 62 years | Chief Actuary, CDAO |
| 50 years | Both Sr. Actuarial Specialists, Data Governance Officer, Data Engineering Officer, Data Analytics Officer, Data Protection Officer |
| 45 years | Actuarial Analyst, Statistical / Research Officer, all four Technical Officer posts |

What is the Salary for ESIC Recruitment 2026?
The figures above are indicative and the amount is consolidated per month. The Selection Committee fixes the exact amount within the range, looking at your qualification, experience and interview. Once fixed at the initial engagement, it is final and is not open to negotiation, review or appeal on the ground of parity with other selected candidates.
| Term | What the Notification Says |
|---|---|
| Nature of pay | Consolidated monthly amount, not “pay” under service rules |
| Increment, DA, allowances | None unless expressly stated |
| Tax | TDS is deducted at source |
| Pension, gratuity, General Provident Fund, House Rent Allowance, LTC, medical reimbursement | The engagement does not entitle you to any of these |
| Leave | 1.5 days for each completed month, no accumulation beyond the calendar year |
Leave up to one month without remuneration may be allowed with the approval of the DG, ESIC, and in exceptional cases for professional development this condition may be relaxed by the DG, ESIC. So compare the monthly figure with what you earn today, because none of the usual government benefits come with it.
What is the Selection Process for ESIC Recruitment 2026?
| Stage | Detail |
|---|---|
| Stage I: Scrutiny and shortlisting | Applications are checked for qualification, experience and age. Those not meeting minimum eligibility are summarily rejected |
| Shortlisting score | Based on essential and desirable qualifications and years of relevant experience |
| Shortlist ratio | Up to 1:10 candidates per vacancy, or another ratio decided by the Competent Authority. All candidates tied at the last position are shortlisted |
| Stage II: Personal Interview | Before a Selection Committee of at least three members (odd number), including a senior ESIC officer not below Insurance Commissioner and an external expert |
| Final merit list | Prepared from interview performance, qualifications, experience and suitability, subject to approval of the Competent Authority |
The notification says there shall be no written or online test. A reserve panel of up to 3 candidates per vacancy may be kept for up to one year, or until the next selection if that comes earlier. The result will be published on the ESIC website. Shortlisting is only for limiting the number of candidates called for interviews and does not, by itself, amount to any assessment of suitability for the post, and the Competent Authority’s decision is final. The Competent Authority can also decide the shortlisting ratio, the marking scheme and the make-up of the committee, and these decisions cannot be challenged except as provided under law.
Since the interview carries the final decision, prepare to talk about the actual work you have done, such as valuation models, data pipelines or audit replies. The panel looks at aptitude, qualification, experience and overall suitability.
