Reservation is applied as per Haryana state norms — UR 637, OBC-NCL 392, SC 276, EWS 145, with 58 PwBD posts on a horizontal basis. There is no ST reservation in Haryana for this engagement.
Eligibility Criteria — IOCL Panipat Apprentice 2026
Each trade has its own qualification. Read your trade’s requirement carefully — you must have a regular, full-time course (part-time, correspondence and distance courses are not accepted). Candidates with higher qualifications like B.E./B.Tech, MBA, CA or MCA are not eligible.
Educational Qualification (Trade-wise)
- Attendant Operator (Chemical): B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Industrial Chemistry
- Fitter (Mechanical): Matric (10th) with 2-year ITI in Fitter trade
- Technician (Chemical): 3-year Diploma in Chemical / Petrochemical / Refinery Engineering
- Technician (Mechanical): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Technician (Electrical): 3-year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Technician (Instrumentation): 3-year Diploma in Instrumentation / Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Secretarial Assistant: B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com.
- Accountant: B.Com.
- Data Entry Operator (Fresher): Class 12 (10+2) pass
- Data Entry Operator (Skill Holder): Class 12 pass with a “Domestic Data Entry Operator” skill certificate

The age limit is 18 to 24 years as on 31 July 2026 (for General/EWS). Reserved categories get age relaxation as shown below.

What is the Salary and Stipend for IOCL Panipat Apprentice 2026?
Apprentices are not regular employees, so there is no pay scale. Instead, a monthly stipend is paid during the training period.
- Stipend: Payable per month as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973 and Apprentices Rules, 1992 (as amended) and the Corporation’s guidelines
- Other benefits: Safety shoes and helmet for technical trades, accident insurance coverage, plus general and casual leave

What is the Selection Process for IOCL Panipat Apprentice 2026?
The selection is simple and transparent, based only on your academic marks. There is no written test and no interview.
- Preparation of a merit list on the percentage of marks in the qualifying exam (trade-wise).
- Preference is given to first-time apprenticeship applicants.
- Document Verification of the shortlisted candidates.
- Pre-engagement medical fitness examination — only fit candidates are engaged.
In case two candidates have equal marks, the older candidate (by date of birth) is placed higher, and then the higher matriculation percentage is used as a tie-breaker.
