Eligibility Criteria for ISRO URSC Apprentice 2026

Read this section slowly. The year you passed matters just as much as your degree here.

Educational Qualification

  • Graduate Apprenticeship: B.E./B.Tech. in the concerned discipline from any recognised university
  • Technician Apprenticeship: Diploma in Engineering in the concerned discipline from a recognised technical board or institution
  • Commercial Practice Apprenticeship: Diploma in Commercial Practice from a recognised board or institution
  • Eligible engineering streams cover Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering & Management, Automobile, Aeronautical and Aerospace at degree level, plus Electrical, Civil and Instrumentation Technology at diploma level

Year of Passing (Very Important)

Only candidates who passed out during 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026 can apply. The notification clearly states that candidates who passed the qualifying examination earlier than 2021 are not eligible. If your passing year is outside this window, this opening is unfortunately not for you.

Age Limit

The notification does not prescribe any age limit and does not mention any age relaxation. Instead of age, eligibility is decided by your year of passing as explained above. So don’t worry about your birth year here — focus on your passing year and your marks.

What is the Salary and Stipend for ISRO URSC Apprentice 2026?

URSC pays a fixed monthly stipend during the one-year training period. The notification prints the figures directly against each apprenticeship category.

  • Graduate Apprenticeship (B.E./B.Tech.): ₹12,300 per month
  • Technician Apprenticeship (Diploma): ₹10,900 per month
  • Commercial Practice Apprenticeship: ₹10,900 per month

Apprentices receive a monthly stipend of ₹10,900 to ₹12,300, paid for the full 12-month training period.

Remember, an apprenticeship is training — not a permanent job. The notification does not promise employment after the training ends. But the certificate, the ISRO campus experience, and the technical exposure you gain will help you strongly in future recruitment across the space and defence sector. Your Aadhaar must be linked to your bank account and enabled for DBT, because the stipend is credited directly.

What is the Selection Process for ISRO URSC Apprentice 2026?

There is no written exam and no interview. This is very good news if your academics are strong. The process runs in four clear stages.

Stage 1: Shortlisting on Marks

Candidates are shortlisted based on the percentage of marks in their respective discipline. Higher marks mean a better chance — that is the only filter at this stage.

Stage 2: Document Verification

Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification. Please note that no travelling allowance is paid, and you must arrange your own lodging and boarding.

Stage 3: Panel / Merit List

After successful verification, a panel is drawn based on academic scores in your Degree, Diploma in Engineering, or Diploma in Commercial Practice.

Stage 4: Induction

Induction against vacant positions is made strictly as per your position in the panel. Selected candidates are informed only by email, so check your inbox and spam folder regularly. At joining, you must submit a Medical Certificate confirming your fitness.

How to Apply Online for ISRO URSC Apprenticeship 2026?

This application has two mandatory steps — NATS first, then UMANG. Miss one and your application is incomplete. Keep your marks certificates, ID proof, photograph and bank details ready. This same NATS-based process is used across many computer and IT government jobs too, so learning it once helps you later.

  1. Enrol yourself on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal and complete the student registration
  2. Upload your Degree or Diploma certificate and a valid government-issued photo ID during enrolment
  3. Note down the Enrolment Number / Apprenticeship Registration Number generated after successful NATS registration
  4. Make sure your Aadhaar is seeded with your bank account and enabled for DBT payments
  5. Now register and log in on the UMANG portal (direct link in Essential Links below), search for URSC Apprenticeship and open the position
  6. Fill all required details and compulsorily enter your NATS Enrolment Number in the UMANG application form
  7. Upload your documents in JPG, JPEG or PNG format and submit the application before the closing time
  8. Save a copy of the submitted application for your records
