Within the Staff Nurse total, 1 seat is kept for a PwBD candidate and 1 seat for an Ex-Serviceman. If no eligible candidate is found for either, the seat goes to the next best candidate in merit order. JMC may also increase or decrease the number of posts.

The listed science subjects for Food Analyst also include Dairy Chemistry, Agriculture, Animal, Fisheries, Biotechnology, Food Safety, Food and Nutrition, Dairy Technology, Oil Technology and Veterinary Sciences.
For the Clerk post, a candidate without the basic computer knowledge certificate can still apply, but must show it before getting the appointment. Otherwise the selection is cancelled.

Reserved-category benefits are only for original residents of Gujarat. A reserved candidate who applies against an Unreserved seat gets no age relaxation or other benefit. The age bar can also be relaxed for candidates already in Gujarat government service under the state’s civil services rules.

Doctors and the Food Analyst are first appointed on 2 years’ probation. The Gynaecologist and Paediatrician must show their medical registration before joining and cannot do private practice. Staff Nurse, Gynaecologist and Paediatrician posts are 100% state-grant posts and are not part of JMC’s general staff setup, so they continue as long as the grant does.
A simple way to read this table: the Level-5, Level-4 and Level-2 posts pay a fixed monthly amount for the first 3 or 5 years, while the doctor and Food Analyst posts start at the basic of their pay level. Read the pay line of your own post before you decide which advertisement to choose, because you can apply to more than one post, but each needs its own form and fee.
What is the Selection Process for JMC Recruitment 2026?

The exam is usually held at Gandhinagar or Ahmedabad, in Gujarati, English or both, at your own cost. You must score the minimum qualifying marks set by JMC, or you will not go forward. Final selection is on written exam and interview marks, where an interview applies. Widow candidates and recognised sportspersons get 5% of their marks added.
Exam date, syllabus, pattern and call letters will be posted on the JMC website, and the commissioner can change the process or cancel the advertisement. A waiting list is not a selection list.
