Every candidate must appear for Paper-I, which has 150 questions for 300 marks and a duration of 2 hours. The subjects are: General Awareness (30), Reasoning (35), Mathematics (35), Language – English/Hindi (30) and Computer Knowledge (20). There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for each wrong answer.
Paper-II: Subject Paper (for specified posts)
For certain technical and specialised posts, there is an additional Paper-II with 50 questions for 100 marks based on the subject of the post.
Skill Test (Stenography / Typing)
Posts like Stenographer, Personal Assistant, Private Secretary, Assistant and Junior Assistant also have a Skill Test (stenography or typing). This test is qualifying in nature.
Interview (Group A posts only)
Only Group A posts have an interview. The final merit is based on a 70:30 ratio (written exam : interview). There is no interview for Group B and Group C posts.
