Cat. 157 and 158 are the Seventh NCA notification and Cat. 159 is the Ist NCA notification. NCA posts are open only to the community named against them. For Cat. 151, 4% of the vacancies reported are reserved for eligible Differently Abled candidates.

For Cat. 156, the accepted second qualifications are:
- Diploma in Civil Engineering (2-year course) of Women’s Polytechnic, or equivalent
- K.G.T.E / M.G.T.E Group Certificate (Building Drawing, Building Construction, Survey and Irrigation), or a pass in the eight listed K.G.T.E / M.G.T.E subjects
- National Apprenticeship Certificate (Surveyor or Civil)
- National Trade Certificate or State Trade Certificate (Surveyor or Draftsman Civil)
- V.H.S.E. pass in Draftsmanship in Building Technology, or Quantity Surveying and Surveying
For the HSST posts, a Master’s (45%) plus SET holder without B.Ed is considered only when B.Ed holders are not available, and must earn B.Ed within five years of joining. M.Ed in the subject exempts you from B.Ed; for Arabic, the Language Teachers Training Course also does. SLET, NET/JRF, Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Ed, or 10 years of approved High School teaching exempts you from SET. Non-qualifying M.Phil, Ph.D or Post Doctoral Fellowship earns weightage marks. For Cat. 153 and 159, the licence must stay valid through every stage of selection. For Cat. 151, the preferential experience is not insisted on in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Colour blindness, night blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eyes or lids of either eye will be deemed a disqualification for both posts. Carry the two-part Medical Certificate in original to the PET or practical test.

Note that HSST (Junior) means a part-time post, while HSST Statistics is a full-time post. Cat. 151, 156 and 159 carry a probation of two years within a continuous three years.
What is the Selection Process for Kerala PSC Notification 2026?
The notifications do not lay out one common exam scheme. They name these stages:

Candidates who fail the physical measurement are not admitted to the PET, and an injury during the PET gets no second chance. NCC certificates (2%, 3% or 5%), SPC certificates and sports merit earn weightage for Cat. 153 and 159. Selected Forest Boat Drivers train for up to three months and are terminated if they fail the training. Police Constable Drivers do nine months of pre-service training and must sign a security bond.
