The general policy is UR 5%, SC 1%, ST 80%, ALC 4% and EWS 10%. But the approved post-based roster gives every one of the 12 seats to ST. If you are not an ST candidate, none of these posts has a seat for you. Candidates from areas adjoining the Line of Control (ALC) also have no seat on any post this time. A 20% horizontal reservation for Ex-Agniveers applies, subject to the rules. The 4% quota for Outstanding Sportspersons has not been applied because posts are unavailable. If suitable Ex-Agniveers are not found, vacancies are dealt with under the recruitment rules and are not carried forward, wherever so prescribed.

Every qualification must be held on or before 8 November 2026, the last date for online forms. Your category certificate must also be issued on or before that date. For Warder, a valid Light Motor Vehicle driving licence (with Trans) is a desired extra. Candidates claiming it face a driving test and can earn incentive marks up to 5% of the written exam marks. The 10th pass candidates have three posts to choose from.

Since Warder sits at Level 2 while Assistant Superintendent Jail sits at Level 6C, the higher post also asks for a Post Graduate degree in a specific stream.

Warder driving marks are added to the written marks. If marks tie, the older candidate ranks higher, then alphabetical order. After selection, a medical board, character and antecedent checks, and certificate verification follow. The PST/PET starts from 20 November 2026, and the venue comes through the admit card.

Assistant Superintendent Jail, Computer Assistant and Junior Assistant papers are graduation level. Warder, Orderly and Barber papers are matriculation level. For the other five posts, General Knowledge covers current affairs, Indian history, geography, polity, economy, sports, environment and Ladakh. The whole PMT and PET process is video recorded and the long race may be electronically timed, so practise with a stopwatch. Only long-race qualifiers move on to the next events, and each event must be qualified separately. Rope, jump and sit-ups apply to Assistant Superintendent Jail and Warder only. The other four posts face the Long Race alone. A re-measurement appeal can be allowed by the Chairman, and that result is final.

Your centre cannot be changed after the closing date. You can edit details until 8 November 2026 by logging in with your registered mobile number, but Date of Birth and Category cannot be edited once submitted. Submit only one application, because duplicates are rejected and the candidature is cancelled. Keep your matriculation, domicile, category and qualification certificates ready. In-service candidates must furnish an NOC from their Head of Department, and failure to do so makes the candidature liable to rejection.
